....From the LA Times, NY Times and Syndicated Talk Show (Jon and Ken - KFI 640 AM Los Angeles), the following is being reported to having appeared in a syndicated column under the name of Ron Paul.

"Order was only restored in L.A.," the publication opined, "when it came time for the blacks to pick up their welfare checks."

Of course, Paul is denying that he actually made these comments. He claims that they came from a staff member. Paul states he never would have said anything this racially charged or inflammatory. Let's hope so, because this report is going to have some pertinence on the elections, should he become a candidate.

It is my opinion that time has probably mellowed him (if, in fact, he was responsible for that statement), and that this is irrelevant to his campaign for POTUS.

    What do you think?

I looked at the first link and I saw Mr. Paul answer that particular thing just a few days ago and he denied he was part of that statement. He did admit that some over zelous staffer wrote the article, but rejected it was ever part of his belief system.
I did not look at the rest as I just figured it was more twisted reporting.

Its all a bunch of garbage. Paul, in his earliest writings and statements (before these publications), names Martin Luther King Jr. and Rosa Parks as personal heroes. He has been, long before these publications, personal friends with leaders of the NAACP.

Republican leaders are scared, because Paul gets MUCH bigger support from non-whites than do the other candidates.

The Captain of the ship is responsible for what happens on his ship.

Yes that holds some truth, but that does not mean he supports what is done which is what some are trying to suggest. Holding some responsibility for those under us does not mean we agree (support) what they say or do. If it did then God is responsible for sin as He is the Captian of this creation (ship).

Right. So he is guilty of not keeping a tight enough reign on people who were not under his direct authority (He was not the head of the organization which bore his name).

He is NOT guilty of racism (in fact he is probably the most un-racist person in Washington). And to keep accusing him of it is disingenuous; a deliberate lie.
