U.S. Olympic Uniforms: Made in China by Democratic Donor’s company

Lawmakers were livid to discover that the United States’ Olympic team uniforms were made in China. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) even suggested “they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again.”

The company who designed the uniforms, Ralph Lauren, has received less scrutiny. Few outlets have noted that Ralph Lauren himself is a prominent contributor to President Obama and the Democratic Party.

Could not be any funnier.

And will Obama return the money....?

Yeah, right!

Ralph Lauren should get a new capitalist hero of the year award. Call it the "Ayn Rand Medal."

I agree.

Isn't it strange how some on the BB claim to strong defenders of Capitalism and then attack a company/person who follows its tenets.

Also, many of the same people say they want the government out of their lifes ... but want it to tell companies where they must have certain items manufactured. It seems they do not want to press on to the logical conclusions of free capitalism. [Pun intended.]

There are other areas in the life of citizens they obviously want the government to mess in, but that is another topic.

Ralph Lauren (born Ralph Lipschitz, October 14, 1939) is an Ewok*.

"As of September 2011, Forbes estimates his wealth at $6.1 billion dollars which would make Ralph Lauren the 173rd richest person in the world."

*denotes euphemism

Ralph Lauren is already promising to have 2014's uniforms made in America.

I.O.W., he already has the contract.

Crony-capitalism is not capitalism. To say it is demonstrates an unfamiliarity with real capitalism.

Where's this attack that you keep talking about?

Where is this cry for the government to get involved that you keep claiming?

I think that China simply offered a good deal on their 100% asbestos uniforms that Ralph Lauren couldn't pass up.

What is an Ewok?

eu·phe·mism/ˈyo͞ofəˌmizəm/Noun: A mild or indirect word or expression for one too harsh or blunt when referring to something unpleasant or embarrassing.

[edit] The euphemism is not for me.

Another Jewish dig?

[edit] What's a dig? Is merely identifying them a dig?
