'Tis some horse feathers from a gang known as "preterists". These people can be found in almost every legitimate denom there is, including Baptists.

They believe ALL Biblical prophecy has already been fulfilled, culminating with the destruction of Jerusalem you mentioned. My opinion: they're fulla baloney.

Just ask a preterist when were the nations judged as described in Matthew 25:31-46?

And you might ask them when Egypt was terrified of the land of Judah(Isaiah 19) back in those days.

    Just Google 'preterism'.

I've never heard a preterist say that the rapture happened in 70AD (not saying they don't exist, I've just never encountered one).

What I have seen/heard are preterists who don't believe in a rapture at all and view the "gathering together" passages (Matt 24:31; Mar 13:27 etc) are referring to evangelists/messengers (Angels meaning messengers) send out to "gather" the elect from the nations "together" in the church.

I've heard that "full" preterists believe that the resurrections and everything happened then, but again that's something I've never seen, just a boogie man I've heard of. ;)

There are actually several groups of thought that believe this, but the 3 main ones are varieties of Preterists, Covenanters, and Historicists. There are quite a few Calvinists that embrace one of those three.

If you have any, I'd be interested in seeing something supporting your claim of a historicist holding to that view. Seems contradictory to me as a historicist(-ish ).

Preterist's do not believe the rapture happened in AD 70; they believe Jesus Christ's second coming occurred in AD 70. Full blown Preterism is a dangerous teaching. It leaves believers without hope.

    Yeah....and then..

.....and then they run and hide  cause the flood of truth from all the doctrinally CORRECT Baptists (we do have at least a few here:smilewinkgrin:) leaves them too bruised and bloody to continue. It takes incredible blindness and ignorance to accept such a theory as full (or even partial preterism. You have to reject and refuse to rightly and properly divide extensive portions of scripture to accept such nonsense. That is just my humble opinion on the matter. Seriously...we need to sincerely pray that these people can somehow be recovered from the snare of the devil that they have been made captive too.:tear:

they dont run and hide---they just get to a point to where they no longer cast their pearls before the swine.

anyway it takes God to open the eyes to see Truth--enough has been posted here already---and it has been rejected by many here.

Just because some cant see it YET--they label it as heresy--careful fellow Christians what you label heresy--you will one day eat your own words and find out your were the ones in Heresy

I don't label it as heresy, I label it as stupidity. If Jesus came in 70 A.D., the whole wide world would know about it. When God sets foot on earth again, trust me, you will notice.

the world did know about it---Israel and the surrounding lands was the World in that time---the known world at that time.

Here is where the mistake is made---people think the whole entire globe--it wasn't talking about that at all---Jesus earthly ministry was for the Jews and Jews only--he said he came NOT but for the lost sheep of the house of Israel--The disciples were sent out to the jews ONLY--not gentiles.

the known world at that time was Israel and the surrounding lands---and they all beheld him in his glory--coming in the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple--just like he had told his disciples and the jews of that day because of their (Jews) Unbelief.

and records state in history that even the Roman Leader knew that God was the one giving the jews into his hand and knew it was the judgement of God upon his people(jews)---even the Roman leader gave glory to God for it.

Apart from calling me a heretic, that is exactly what some of the Mormons and J.W.'s would say to me. So what is the difference?

didn't put any literal names on that post---I was just saying that those who call truth heresy maybe one day will have their eyes open and find out they were the real ones in heresy :love2::love2::love2:

Only a small group of full preterist hold to this belief, Ed Stevens being the most notable:

    Very Sad...

Friend...you have been terribly deceived. In order to believe this false doctrine you must ignore or discard much of the book of Acts, much of the writings (Inspired) of the Apostle Paul under God's Inspiration to the Gentiles (Acts 13:46) and a huge body of (as yet) unfulfilled end-times Prophecy concerning the Lord's return and the World yet-to-come. That is sheer lunacy and downright tragic.:tear:
