Without a doubt, the lawlessness of Obama is coming home to roost.

Is my head in the sand - doesn't the US currently have Immigration laws. Why not just enforce those.

The major change I would like to see is that babies born in the US by 2 illegal immigrants would NOT be a US citizen.
And of course -stricter border control. IE - someone crossing the (unmanned ) border - automatic deportation.

Lets get our house in order first.

The problem is not that we need immigration reform. It is that this administration will not enforce the laws already on the books. The most lawless President in our history.

And, Rev., the topic is the number of voters who will switch to the Democrats because of the Republicans continuing being the party of "NO." No ideas, no constructive suggestions, just saying "no" and blocking everything, even some of their own ideas. Remember O'Connell filibustering his own motion.

The deportation rate has gone up under Obama.

I reckon midterm elections 2014 will tell the tale on whether this is so or no.

If senate turns GOP, GLORY HALLELUJAH! SWEET GRIDLOCK TO THE CENTER ONCE AGAIN!

Don't know how long it will last but at least this careening into far left field will end as it did with midterm elections 1994.

Far right revolts me just as much as far left.

It is going to be a very interesting campaign season this year. Off years usually help the party out of power. If the GOP does not make gains it does not bode well for future elections.

What needs to be done is remove all the perks and make it impossible for them to make a living and they will leave and stop coming illegally.
Make all employers do legal status checks on all employees and new hires. Make it an automatic 5 years in prison and a 10,000 dollar fine for each offence of a hired illegal.
Make it a criminal offense to provide for any illegal. do away with all the perks, free medical, food, housing or what ever and they will leave and stop coming.

Once again the GOP lost their last chance to get millions more Hispanics on the Democrat voter rolls for the upcoming election. What this means is that Hispanics will continue to vote Democrat because Catholics vote Democrat in the majority. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have given the GOP numerous chances to commit political and intellectual suicide and join the Democrat Party so now the GOP will have to self-destruct on their own since the chances that the Democrats can win this fall are so small. This means the end of the two-party system since there will only be two parties left. It will be up to Hillary to clean up Obama's mess.

You're as clueless as your president. Neither of you seem to realize that the voters are fed up with insecure borders, illegal immigration, wasteful spending in virtually every unimportant area of government while defense and free trade are strangled by political correctness. You and every other liberal in the country had better cover your ears. That "sizzle" you hear is the burning of a long fuse leading to a huge explosion right in your faces on November 4.

Seriously, why don't you try reading up on topics. You are quite wrong.

Even right of center polls show you are wrong. I'd say you are out of step even with your own party.

ROFL. Like the democrats would agree to a single platform they have. Your post does nothing to make TNID assertion wrong, on the contrary, it re-enforces it.

It just proves that CTB is totally clueless. He thinks this ...
... is what Obama has asked for? Wrong. And that doesn't cost $3.7 billion dollars.

Obama asked congress for 3.7 billion dollars for the border crisis. There are presently 57,000 illegal detainees. That comes to $71,000 per detainee. What does Obama want to do? Buy them each a new Cadillac to drive north?

He deliberately asked for such a stupidly huge amount that he know congress would not give it to him so he can blame congress for the whole problem.

The Liar in Chief strikes again. :(

Enforce the Immigration Reform Act of 1986....

Had we simply enfforced the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Immigration Act, we'd not be in the turmoil we presently are in!

    Concur. In spades.

If $3.7 billion were spent on completing the fence along the border -- the double- and triple-wall fence such as been at least partially constructed in Arizona and parts of California -- the money would build 1,850 miles of real fence. That's only 83 miles short of the whole thing, from San Diego to the Las Palomas Wildlife Management Area.

But instead, we've got holes in the fence, and in many areas of Texas and New Mexico, there is nothing standing in the way of illegal immigrant at the U.S. border. Not even Border Patrol, which for some inexplicable reason is staged 75-80 miles back from the border. On Fox & Friends this morning there was a piece with two Texas ranchers whose property backs up to the border. Between them, they've seen over 2.5 million illegals cross into the U.S. over the years, using their backyards.

The "security fence" along the property line with the border consists of five strands of barbed wire and concrete posts sunk 18" into the ground that will supposedly hinder anyone crawling under the fence. It might actually work if they were closer than two feet apart. Then again, anyone traveling with others can just have them pull up on the bottom strand of wire and still easily enter the U.S. The ranchers pointed out the government claims that fence also costs $2 million a mile.

That is actually the cost of the double-walled 20-foot high fences in Arizona and California, but they're counting this as part of that expenditure. Perhaps if Obama was asking for $3.7 billion to build a real security fence, it would pass.
