I don't know of most churches letting politicians speak or preach in there. I have heard politics mentioned from the pulpit, primarily in my old church, and (in my old church) this included the speaker's own preference. I do not know if this is comparable. Perhaps other churches did that differently than my old one. (Only a couple times I remember politics being mentioned in my current church, from the pulpit anyway. Youth pastor brings up politics sometimes.)

We did something different this year and did a "Meet the Candidates Night" for our local elections and allowed each of the candidates who came a short time to speak and then have a Q & A time. 75% of the people who attended were not from our church and a few of those who came that night actually ended up coming on a Sunday after that! This was not a Sunday service nor was it speaking from the pulpit even (we set up a podium at the front of the sanctuary for them to use). I don't have a problem doing something like this but on a Sunday morning? Nope.

You specifically said:

"Makes no sense. You're a follower of Christ. If it's not worthy of church, why is it worthy of you period?"

Now you try and act like that's not what you meant. Typical.

What's typical is your snarky responses which you seem to think double as wisdom.
Back to the file.

Just to be clear: to use the video of this group in a church service would be, in my opinion, somewhat like using (if there were one) a video of Miley Cyrus singing "Just as I am" while still openly unrepentant of the lifestyles she espouses, and dressing and makeup etc used to advertise them.

For the life of me I cannot think of say a singer promoting lying, stealing, gluttony, gossip, etc off the top of my head, but wouldn't use their video either.

As to my beliefs, filth and the promotion of filth don't belong in my church, in my home, or in my life. So yeah, I am straightlaced about music, movies, tv shows, novels, etc. Not sorry about that a bit. I am so far from perfect myself it is a crying shame, but I won't knowingly expose myself or others to the glorification of sin when there is the means of escape.

Now YOU sound like one of those peculiar people Scripture speaks to Christians being and not much like the new brand of Christian who makes excuses to accommodate the filth and promotion of filth.

I stand firmly behind the belief that if I am not gonna directly support its use in the church in any manner, then why would I turn around and go directly support it at home? It's beyond hypocritical and speaks to folks putting on airs in church and acting like something else outside of church.

Agreed. I don't listen (knowingly) to music performed by people promoting any sinful lifestyle at home, car, church, wherever.

Which has made me trash some used to be favorite music.
