Do you plan on shopping at Target as long as they open their bathrooms to anyone? Should Christians make a stand or just ignore? My family is done with Target unless they repent.

Just to make a point, if I ever see one I will drive right on by. I seem to remember there was some controversy with Target a few years ago when Amy Grant was their spokesperson.

Honestly, I don't feel the need to boycott because they are doing what the dead do - serve sin. I believe by the end of the year, we will have a number of other companies following suit including Disney. But my husband has asked me to not shop there which I will follow his wishes. It's hard because Target is kind of my go-to store for so much.

But if EVERYONE stop shopping - then they will change their policy.

Indeed. If Christians were to keep a list of all the offensive policies that companies have they wouldn't be able to buy much of anything. Besides, I thought we were supposed to boycott Target because they kicked the Salvation Army off their doorsteps for Christmas donations?

This issue is not equal to any other issues out there. In fact it is far worse. The stated goal of the homosexual and Transgender movement is to change how the country sees the family and to bring marriage as we know it to an end. Further they want control of how children are educated and who has ultimate control over them.

This Transgender bathroom lockerroom issue only serves those purposes.

So are y'all going to stop shopping or eating at any gender neutral business?

God made them Male and Female, nothing else, nothing in between, and no mistakes.

It is the just lay down and take it, so called christians, who wouldn't stand up for anything, and would be the first in line to take the mark of the beast, that has opened our country up to the perverted state it is in now.

Target threw out The Salvation Army, a church regulated by the federal government and a church which takes money from non-Christians. It is easy to boycott Target here because of heavy traffic and their high prices and many other alternatives. As for Disney, they have been gay-friendly since the death of Walt Disney back when Michael Eisner took over as CEO.

Curiously, Target in Indianapolis has a large warehouse across the street from Carrier Air Conditioning, who are moving to Mexico due to high federal taxes. I have met people who worked at either Carrier or Target. I think Target will lose stores because of this policy.

Tim Wildmon of American Family Association has almost a million people pledged to boycott Target and he says this:

"Target has crossed the line by intentionally exposing women and girls to voyeurs and sexual predators with their restroom and dressing room policy."

I wonder how many mentally-ill cross dressing men have been using women's restrooms without it being known? It certainly is not the right thing to do, but none of us hear about it because attention has not been brought to the issue. Target decided to shine a spot light on the bathroom issue, and is rightly receiving backlash for it. The reason? Purely ideological. The mentally-ill cross dressing community is not a large market for Target.

If Target gets away with this then other companies will follow suit. In that happens boycotting will prove ineffectual because there will no longer be any alternatives. But until that day, speaking with one's wallet has the potential to change minds.

This reminds me of when I was pastoring in a small town many years ago. The parsonage did not have connections for a washer and dryer, so I had to do my laundry at the laundromats in town. There were two of them... One was owned by church members who had not darkened the door of our building for more than 20 years and had asked me to leave their property when I knocked on their door and introduced myself. The other laundromat was owned by a couple that also owned a convenience store that sold beer - one of the few places that did.

The laundromat owned by the church members was open from 9am-4pm each day (the time when proper stay-at-home women should be doing laundry), and the other laundromat was open in the evenings until 10pm.

Being someone who had to work and go to school in the daytime hours most of the year, I started going to the laundromat owned by the convenience store people. Almost immediately the word got back to me that I was obligated to spend my quarters with the church members and not the "sinners" who sold beer. Apparently, a previous pastor(s) had made an issue of it. I pointed out that the other laundromat was not open when I needed it, having one's name on the church rolls doesn't necessarily grant one the authority to dictate who other people trade with, that someone who hasn't been a part of the fellowship for 20 years and is hostile to the new pastor is someone that I can't really influence for good, and that I will have opportunities to speak to these "sinners" while I am there and they may actually lead to someone better than anyone might imagine.

That didn't go over well, but I stuck to my guns. What happened is that over nearly two years of doing laundry there, I had more than a dozen substantial conversations about Jesus with the woman who owned the place. She was shocked that a Baptist pastor would come to her laundromat, conduct business, and befriend her. She was quite open to faith in Jesus, but was having a hard time getting over the hostility from the Christians in town.

She nearly cried the first time I quoted John 3:16-17:

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever trusts in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
It was good news to her, but she had a hard time believing it.

Target has a long history of liberal activism--they have made toys and some clothing gender neutral.

    Target has high prices.

Not the answer to my question. Are you going to check every business and not shop/eat, etc. at any that is gender neutral? It is going to be touch living and finding out who you can no longer patronize.

    From: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...lly-boycotting-trans-friendly-businesses.html

All the Things You Can No Longer Buy if You’re Really Boycotting Trans-Friendly Businesses
Last year, 407 businesses achieved a perfect score of 100 on the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a survey distributed by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) that measures support for LGBT employees and the broader LGBT community. That high score is impossible to achieve without having trans-inclusive health-care and anti-discrimination policies that include gender identity.

Good luck flying anywhere without putting money in the coffers of companies that proudly endorse LGBT rights. American, United, Southwest, JetBlue, and Alaska Airlines all earned top marks, as did Boeing. If you decide to travel by car instead, be sure you’re not in a vehicle manufactured by Ford, GM, Toyota, Nissan, or Volkswagen.

Without a car, you will have to wear non-Nike shoes to walk to your local ATM, where you should withdraw all of your money because most major banks—including Chase, Bank of America, Citi, and Wells Fargo—have a 100 on the CEI. Get used to paying with cash because you will have to shred your credit cards. Mastercard, Visa, American Express, and Discover all have a perfect rating, too.

Target has been gay-friendly for years, Crabtown, but the issue here is bathrooms. Trump and the Democrats support Target. Evangelicals and Fundamentalists are standing with the American Family Association in pledging to boycott Target.

Democrats receive the votes of GLBT community along with their money so Democrats have to say that it is okay to be in the ditch as long as you vote Democrat. Hillary depends upon the GLBT vote in the upcoming Indiana primary as among her staunchest supporters.

Not really. Do you remember the big boycott (and it seems to continue in many people's minds) against Chic-Fil-A because of their pro-family stance? Their numbers all went up. And like I said, this was HUGE because it was the liberal media who fed it. Even today tell the general population about CFA and they will say "I'd never go to such a homophobic restaurant." When CFA opened here on Long Island for the first time, that was the HUGE response from pretty much anyone who posted replies to the articles online.

Boycotts like this really won't make much of a difference to the business's bottom line.

I am not sure that a boycott by the left is the same as a boycott by Evangelicals and Fundamentalists. I quit stopping at Starbucks over abortion but their stores are not very nice around here so it was no loss to me.

If everyone were of the mind to stand in opposition to such decisions they would never have been considered, much less made. ;)

    Just an observation.

If you can not do everything, then do nothing. Outcome, complete success of the opposition for they received none. Doing something when you can not do it all at least gives opposition.

Seems it is better to have a candle in the dark rather than nothing. Even a flea irritates the one it is riding on!
