I say he failed in that there are more blacks struggling today to make a decent living. And even more are welfare dependant than when he took the Oval Office eight years ago! When he was elected 8 years ago, I actually expected Obama to move heaven and earth to promote the cause, and better the life style of the black Americans! Yet, as I look back, and look forward, I see people of color, especially blacks, have not been given a hand up, just more hand me downs, especially when it comes to improved living standards and safety in the streets they walk and live on!

Black Americans still have the largest percentage of unemployment and underemployed individuals in this country. PLUS, there is a growing number of black on black murders in the inner city ghettos. Drugs and alcohol are also a problem, and one parent families continue to be a nail in the coffin of black families! The social, economical albatross they have been forced to shoulder, for way to long, is still theirs to carry. And that says to me that Obama failed not only Americans, but black Americans in general!

I really had hope that a black president would equal programs coming from Washington that would better equip young black men and women in getting out from under the drug, alcohol, criminal and failed economic culture they have been forced to endure for decades, if not centuries!

Do you think that this president has failed to create positive change, especially for black Americans?

The failure came about because the GOP decided before Obama took office to oppose everything he proposed ... and they have carried out that policy to this day. No wonder African-Americans do not support the GOP.

Thank you. The OP tries to act like he doesn't know about the obstructionist GOP Congress who insisted before the President took office that they were gonna do everything within their power to make sure he was unsuccessful and a one-term President.

But folks like the OP and his confused friend who likes to post the same article again and again try to act as though the misfortunes of Blacks or anyone who doesn't share their politics is the result of things that have taken place in a vacuum, and that minorities are where they are strictly as the result of something other Blacks have done or have not done.

The bigotry and racial prejudice and racism of their white counterparts couldn't possibly be a factor.

Obama does not have many supporters on the issue of failing blacks. On the one side Obama us criticized because blacks have not gained and in fact have fallen in employment and wealth. On the other side Obama is criticized for not going far enough on what they deem as inequality.

Far left policies have left them and many other Americans in a weaker position. What he did do is fail to keep his word and unite people. Obama is an ideologue not a leader. He is more worried about the agenda than he is people. In fact I do not think he really likes people at all.

And just how do you suppose he "unite" people when a Republican Congress starts off with their intent to make him a one term President?

Or when the folks below hatched an obstruction plan?

House members Eric Cantor, Jeb Hensarling, Pete Hoekstra, Dan Lungren, Kevin McCarthy, Paul Ryan and Pete Sessions. From the Senate were Tom Coburn, Bob Corker, Jim DeMint, John Ensign and Jon Kyl. Others present were former House Speaker and future – and failed – presidential candidate Newt Gingrich and the Republican strategist Frank Luntz, who organised the dinner and sent out the invitations.

If folks are in a weaker position, it's because the evil folks mentioned aboe plotted to put them there.

The GOP even partially opposed Obama on new mandate that you can use whatever toilet you want in the public schools. The GOP opposes Obama on the new mandate that gender is a social construct. Thank you, Crabtown, for standing up for a woman's right to chose, for evolution, for climate change, for gun control, for raising taxes, for raising the minimum wage to at least $15, for same-sex marriage, etc., etc., etc. :Alien:Alien:Alien

None of that matters to Democrats. It took me a long time to realize that Democrats are not about continuous improvement and respect for others. They are about power and lording it over everyone else. Do you think that the Democrats in California care about what they have done to California? Why they are so blinded by power that they don't even know what they have done and wouldn't care if they did know. Democrats are backward people. Blacks consider their economic setback the price they had to pay personally for bringing down the country.

They have opposed him on everything he has proposed. They simply agreed to be totally obstructionist in their approach to government. And, then after winning a majority in each house they not only oppose Obama then can not agree with each other. Thus they have completely failed to govern in any responsible way. It is not to their credit they opposed him on some issues, they would have opposed them even if they were proposals they say they wanted.

I don't know what you think that the opposition political party should do other than say no to everything that the other party wants. I don't ever recall your ever saying anything nice about any Republican or agreeing with anything that a Republican suggested. However, I know that you agree with socialized medicine, abortion on demand, same-sex marriage, evolution, climate exchange, abolition of the death penalty, gun control, etc., etc., etc. Do you care about the new poverty in America or do you even think that America is in decay in all respects? Obama is not intelligent and he has not been good for the lower classes, although white Democrats have gotten rich under Obama.

It's funny that the GOP is being touted here as obstructionist, even though the show fits. I watched a video clip a couple years ago that had all the times that Obama publicly refused to compromise with the GOP. It was a lot.

Whether or not the GOP had decided to adapt an obstructionist policy or not, it would have looked like it because of Obama's "My way or nothing" attitude.

Part of the GOP obstruction, and it was rather clever, was to pass something Obama supported was to add a poison pill rider to ensure Obama would reject it.

You are wrong and you continue to print lies about me.

The general trend in America has been decay since Ronald Reagan was in office. He began the downward spiral we have found ourselves in and with GOP policies continue to add to the problem. There are very few brights spots since Reagan.

True, but as the newly elected President following an 8 year GOP Presidency, why would he need to compromise especially with a group of folks who came out before he even took office and basically said they were gonna oppose everything he recommended?

He seemingly had good reason to say my way or nothing.

What lies about you? You are for a whole string of leftist social policies such as same-sex marriage, etc., aren't you?

You think that the GOP should just applaud whatever you and Obama say. And yet you never have a kind word for anyone who opposes you--I know because I have been on this board as long as you more or less and I have never had you agree with anything that I say, but that pleases me.

    Several lies you have preputiated.

I expect both parties to work with the other and to work for the good of the American people. I do not think either party should follow a policy of opposing everything an opposition president proposes. This ishameful and detrimental to the American people.

I may not agree with you, but I do not slander you and your beliefs.

Lol, seriously, the GOP has been caving on everything. Sounds like the resident liberals have a higher opinion of tbe GOP's legislative abilities than any conservative.

And it seems like everyone is forgetting about the first two years of the Obama administration, when he had his majority in both the house and senate.

You won't defend your beliefs and seldom if ever answer specific questions, such as the one about what policies that I attributed to you are incorrect?

The parties are not obligated to work together. Where is that in Scripture? I will oppose everything that Hillary does in the next four years. Verbal opposition and voting no does not hurt anyone. That is the way the system works. As a Democrat, you undoubtedly opposed everything that Bush did, right?

Obama is not very intelligent and he does not show any cordiality to his opposition. You should take into account Obama's lack of talent and his poor education.

I don't understand why the religious left and political left bothers talking to conservatives. You have wealth and a cosmopolitan lifestyle and maybe you are a higher form of evolution. To the lower classes like me, I find your politics oppressive and your religious beliefs bankrupt and unworkable--so why do you bother to impose your way on your lessers who have rejected your dogma? Even if you dominate the churches and destroy Fundamentalism and Evangelicalism and impose your liberal political ideas at the point of a gun, you will still be irrelevant to those who you have crushed.

So ask some rational, on-topic questions and stop the accusations and slander as you just did in your response. Discuss calmly and intelligently. Stop with the irrational emotions.

I do not remember Jesus talking politics. The parties should work together for the good of the country. Do you agree?

    Your opinion.

Are you saying that Harvard Law School and the University of Chicago Law Schools are inferior?

    Come let us reason together.

What do you mean by lower classes?

The dimmest of all is the current racist clown in the white house.

Obama didn't just fail black people, he failed all Americans. Every time he had the chance to act like a president during racially tense situations, he acted like a black man with a huge chip on his shoulder instead.
As a result he has been largly responsible for the deterioration af race relations during his term in office. His own race has preoccupied a large part of his time, creating problems where none existed, to the detriment of the nation as a whole.

But , all in all the premise of the OP is correct. He has done the most damage to blacks.
