Hmmm...the IRS vs Benny Hinn.

I don't know how to feel about this.

It's like cheering the tiger for stopping the bear from eating your baby, only to realize that the reason the tiger stopped the bear is because he wants to eat your baby.
Amen to that!

Who's next?

I heard way back, when Oral Roberts had flown in and had finished preaching to a group of Indians made this comment to his pilot... Get me away from these savages... I just wonder if the Indians thought turning to one another I'm sure glad that savage left... Some of these Televangelist hacks would be better doing an infomercial... As you can tell this is one of my pet peeves, my number one pet peeve... Somebody stop me now I'm on a roll... Brother Glen:Biggrin

Seems a bit oxymoronic. How would a Federal Agent know what a sound doctrine might be?

Does the government have a standard for faith and practice? No, Nicea does not count. Get your SF10s ready. This may be a new job opportunity: Enforcer of Sound Bible Doctrine. This could be a sovereign agency.

Phony evangelists have been around since before the TUBE--in every generation. Jesus warned about this. He said many would be deceived-- do not believe them. Now what?

"We do not wrestle flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, spiritual wickedness in high places."

Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Of course not. This all harassment while acting under Color of Authority and Color of Law.
The referenced story is satire.

Regarding whether or now there is an actual case against him that doesn't violate religious liberty principles remains to be seen. I would sure hate to have to defend Mr. Hinn's right to religiously con vulnerable people.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Though lavish ministry spending is unethical, its not necessarily illegal. Time will tell.

The good Lord has blessed this unworthy child of his amazing grace to be here over 71 years. During that time I seen and met many preachers and I've noticed that the ones that have a heart for God are humble and caring. They are concerned about God people and are not in it for the lavish lifestyle. Look at the Apostles!... I am not saying that all the preachers on here should sell their cars and homes, put on a robe, grab a stall, put sandals on their feet and hit the road with Bible in hand. The preachers mission as pertains to us all is to imitate our Lord and Master Jesus Christ... No wonder people are not drawn to Jesus and the gospel... There are too many crackpot, quacks, snake oil salemen and loonies who bring disgrace to the true honoring men of God who preach the gospel... No wonder attendance has gone down in churches... Who wants to come to church, when the representation of churches to some is the scandals of PTL and the like?:Cautious:UnsureConfused... Jesus commanded Peter feed my sheep and feed my lambs, I know I will NEVER see the day when these so called preachers will feed the sheep and quit fleecing them for their own material gain... I been here 71 years and it has not happened yet and it just getting worse... Just like the Bible say it will down through the ages... Brother Glen:)
