November election night 2016 was by far the most memorable for me simply for the shock of it; I was totally resigned to Hillary as POTUS and the subsequent steep slide into socialism for this country. I'm beginning to have those same reservations about the upcoming midterms:

Ted Cruz: "“The left are stark raving nuts. ... They have full-on Trump derangement,” he said. “They will crawl over broken glass in November to vote. ... We could get obliterated at the polls.”

Dems surge in generic ballot as economy fades from spotlight :
"Democrats have reopened a double-digit lead in the generic congressional ballot, as a cascade of White House controversies has pushed the economy off the front page.

Republicans closed the generic ballot gap on Democrats in January, raising hopes that the GOP could hang on to the House in November. But now Republicans have seen their gains almost completely wiped out, underscoring their concerns that the party could be in for a bruising midterm election battle this year...."

    Your thoughts?

Will Dems take the House and/or the Senate? Will Trump be impeached?

I think they hold the house and pickup about 6 Senate seats.

No, Republicans will significantly increase in plurality inspite of their lethargy and slumber.

The DNC will blow a gasket and likely commit hari-kari with an independent pushing them out of the race.

Lots of Republicans are in denial. President Trump is wrecking the Republican Party and I suspect that the GOP will lose an enormous amount of power in November.

I hate to see that since the nation needs a strong counterbalance to the Democratic Party, but I'm sure something else will arise to take its place.

The Dems will lose again and Nancy Pelosi will still refuse to step down as Democrat Party leader. The only thing the Dems have to run on now is gun control and I don't think that will be a winning issue for them.

Wow. You may need to broaden your news sources and your circle of friends...

The Trump Presidency and the unwillingness of the Republican Party to hold him accountable is the issue that the Democrats will run on. President Trump and the continuous scandals of his administration are wearing on the patience of many voters. You can be sure that everyone who dislikes Trump's presidency will be highly motivated to vote and register their displeasure by voting out the GOP figures who enable him.

Republicans will keep the House, lose the Senate. But with Trump already having over two thirds of his agenda in place, and plenty of time to do more before 2018, the Republicans will retake the Senate with Trump's reelection in 2020.

It's almost Impossible they'll lose the Senate. That have a whole bunch of dam senators up for reelection in Trump states. I predict they gain 5.

Wish I could share your optimism. I've stated it before, I've little or no confidence in the electorate. The Trump hating left are energized in 2018, in 2016 they were overconfident and oblivious.

Not talking about 2020, but 2018 midterms. :)

...but I hadn't considered that possibility....

This is what I fear. I keep thinking of Cruz's words, “They will crawl over broken glass in November to vote. ... We could get obliterated at the polls.”

Folks have been wrong since day 1 when it comes to Trump.

Don't think that will change. His base has grown greatly in spite of the fake news tsunami.

it has to do with the growth of WWW citizen news and the death of the Marxist press as believable.

    It appears it's already happening.

RASMUSSEN: TRUMP APPROVAL 7% HIGHER THAN OBAMA AT SAME TIME OF PRESIDENCY...

I bet all those "scandals" would pale compared to Obama's if the media wasn't owned and operated by 'the left' and the truth was told.

    Opinion | Trump’s Scandals, a List

Most of these are seriously laughable to even consider them as 'scandals'.

Hmmm, going by special elections, generic ballots, probable challengers, enthusiasm levels and all the other measurements that are almost useless this far out, I'd say D + 6-12 in the House, R +2 in the Senate .

You are saying R +5 for the Senate? Who do you think will lose, let me guess, Claire the ditz in MO, Heidi in ND, despite her being one of the few not totally anti-NRA, Debbie in MI (VERY corrupt IMO), JoeD in IN (victor from a TP fiasco), JoeM in WV (tough to beat). and Tester in MT?

I want Sherrod Brown, Bill Casey and Bill Nelson to lose but they will be even tougher than the first batch. It's still just too far out for me, think you're right IF the election were held today.

That’s not much to crow about. Obama denigrating people and forcing Unafordable Health Care down our throats, plus Benghazi plus yada yada. The guy should have been banished to someplace like France to live out his life in a socialist country.

I have no idea. There will be a huge opportunity after the mid-terms and someone will put something together. There are lots of people who will see the Republican Party as past saving and will still oppose the Democratic Party.

If Republicans hold the line on gun control, they pick up seats in both houses. If they cave, they get wiped out.

Well, if anyone is unhappy with my guess, if you bring me the receipt, I'll refund you what you paid for it.

That's my fear too. Trump seems to think raising the age and ending bump stocks is a winning issue. I think school security and ending no-gun-zones is the winning issue. If he goes with that, he's going to win big.
