Check Genesis 3:16
Genesis 3:16 (New International Version)
16 To the woman he said,

“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you.”

I believe this resolution passed at the 2011 Southern Baptist Convention in Phoenix, Arizona. According to this article the Executive Staff of the Commission on Theology and Church Relations of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod cautioned against it. WELS, on the other hand, endorsed it. This article on WAPO mentions some opposition (I think mainly the SBC and the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood).
So there was and is still some significant Christian groups against the Niv 2011 revision, as those same groups did endorse the 1984 edition.

Most people against the 2011 NIV are also against the 1984 edition.

Why no comment on WELS?
Why no comment on LifeWay?
Why no comment on the NIV translation of Genesis 3:16?

All of the SBC? No, a few isolated individuals.

LifeWay Christian Resources sells the NIV and of course has not denounced it. LWCR is under the authority of the SBC.

Reformed? What about D.A. Carson, probably the best known N.T. scholar/preacher and author.

Lutherans? They are a mixed bag. Many are liberal and too close to Roman Catholicism for my taste.

WELS is biblically conservative and has endorsed the NIV and use it rather than any other Bible translation in their hymnbooks.

WELS uses the NIV in their Northwwestern Publishing House.
Why no response from Y1 on the above?

I think that many who liked the 1984 are against the 2011 Niv, as Baptists/Lutherans and others did actually use and endorse the 1984 version, but no tthe 2011 revision!

Y1, there you go again. You quote my entire post without dealing with any of its content. It is pointless to quote someone
without treating any of the content.

Please answer the questions I posed in #24 and #25.

I already have, as there were several groups who endorsed the 1984, but not the new revision!

For the slow to understand Y1. Please deal with the above.

Deal with the above Y1. To run, dodge and evade.

Well, well. I posted the above on May 1, 2018 and asked y1 to respond to those three questions several times.

But y1 is not in the habit of answering direct, easy questions.

He would prefer to duck and dodge. It would make him feel uncomfortable to address specifics and force him to fess up.

To me that's like asking would you rather have the flu or food poisoning. I am not a KJVO, but I am a never the NIV.
the Niv was an acceptable one, but when the 2011 revision hit, many Baptists stopped using it, including churches and ministries!

What's the matter y1? Does the cat have your tongue?

I have asked the same series of questions in posts 23, 24, 26, 28, 29 and 30.

The questions appear to be easy, but you apparently think they are hard. But actually they would be difficult if you are dishonest.
If you became honest it would be a simple task.

Just three simple questions --give it an honest try with no evasion, no quibbling, no irrelevancies.

in the sense of closest to what the originals had intended to teach us?
The 2011 version does have several improvements over the 1984, but its gender-inclusive policy makes it unacceptable to me.
Two churches where I'm sometimes invited to preach have switched to the ESV.

Nonsense. But of course you're the guy who'd like to toss the CSB in the trash.

Two churches where I'm sometimes invited to preach have switched to the ESV.
And you're okay with its inclusive language.

Just noting your inconsistency.
Well I am noting yours. You have almost no idea what my view of the ESV is-- I have certainly not expressed a view of it on this thread-- and you can't be bothered to ask because
A. You are almost incredibly rude.
B. You would sooner be ignorant.

You must be going through personal problems. MM. Don't take them to the BB.
