Fox News host Laura Ingraham went on an all-out racist, xenophobic rant on her TV show on Wednesday night.

Hey, Laura, there are already four states(Hawaii, New Mexico, Texas, California) where whites are not in the majority and by around 2040 in the United States as whole, whites will not be a majority. So you had best make your peace with the situation.

"To many, that sounded racist. That's because it is. She isn't complaining that the country's getting older or younger, richer or poorer, that we're having more or fewer children or moving to the suburbs. She's complaining that people who come to America from other countries -- even legally -- are making this country unrecognizable to her. Indeed, to "us."

Who "us" means is also clear: Fox News viewers, who are predominantly 65 and older and white. I know many of those viewers, and I'm sad to say that message probably resonated with a lot of them."

What Laura Ingraham said was awful. And unsurprising (opinion) - CNN

OK, I hate to respond because I don't care too much about engaging the topic. I believe that one side of the issue chooses ignorance while too many on the other expresses hate under the guise of patriotism.

But I had to look up the entire episode because it seemed a bit far-fetched. And, of course, it was (not the articles, they legitimately exist, but the reporting is more along the line of propaganda than it is reporting). There are people who are not racists yet believe not only should we prevent illegal immigration but that we should close "loop holes" in our current laws (those who are here legally but perhaps shouldn't be for one reason or another).

I hope such people do not couch their viewpoint in racist, xenophobic language like Laura Ingraham used.

That's my point. She didn't. The "racism" only came in with the prejudiced interpretation of her actual words.

Not defending Ingraham (this is the 1st time I've seen her...I'm not into politics) but keeping it honest to the actual context. There is a reason the clip ended when it did, and it had nothing to do with what was actually being communicated. Fox News did the same thing not long ago with Rep. Cohen's purple heart comment.

It's just sad with all the issues going on that American politics has become nothing but a liars competition.

You can try to sugarcoat it all you want, but the fact is she did.

Just another liberal playing identity politics. That's all you know. She just has to be a racist. You don't agree with her. That's just the way it works.

That's why I linked the entire episode. Still, I do understand some cannot but hear what they want to hear. That's one reason I don't hang out so much in the political section. Few topics produce so many blind sheeple than do politics. They exaggerate the faults of the opposing view while ignoring their own sins. And each side truly believes their own lies. It's willful ignorance.

Another reason is I believe both sides try to displace Christ in Christianity with their own agendas.

Excellent post on Twitter by Tony Fratto (@TonyFratto) on this subject in which he concludes:

"The country was built on "massive demographic changes". It's not a bug, it's a feature.”

I read the transcript and Ingraham was complaining about illegals entering the country, becoming criminals, and Democrats wanting to give all illegals sanctuary. She's right. We didn't vote for this.

So it was never about the legality of immigration but about race. As suspected

Spot on. Ingraham proved that the issue is not behavior, but skin color as she said “we” referring to white people like her. It is so sad that even some who are Christians support white nationalist sentiments.

Did my last post not take or did it get zapped?

An immigrant of color wrote and produced a documentary now in theatres showing us who the real racists are in this nation. But here on the BB, KenH can assert obvious falsehoods.

A moderator (and a British subject) may ask, "What is an obvious falsehood?"

Obvious: easily perceived or understood; clear, self-evident, or apparent.
Falsehood: the state of being untrue. A fabrication, invention, fiction, story. A lie.
So, when I say KenH is asserting an obvious falsehood, it means he's asserting a clear, self-evident lie. If one can fog a mirror, he knows it. And Ken knows it. The British subject might be excusable. But not Ken.

“White nationalists win by activating white panic, by frightening a sufficient number of white people into believing that their safety and livelihoods can only be protected by defining American citizenship in racial terms, and convincing them that American politics is a zero-sum game in which white people only win when people of color lose. While this dynamic has always been present in American politics, it has been decades since the White House has been occupied by a president who so visibly delights in exploiting it, aided by a right-wing media infrastructure that has come to see it as a ratings strategy.“
