Poll: Majority of Americans Want Mass Deportations of Illegal Aliens Following Congressional Inaction

I wish they wouldn't talk about it. Just do it. Stop giving up the element of surprise. They really do talk too much and give away too much info and then give plenty of time for lawless mayors and governors and lawmakers to help the illegals hide from law enforcement. I really hate when they have such loose lips. Loose lips sink ships, as the old saying goes.

OTOH letting it be known is what is intended in order to get media to draw public awareness of the need for congress to act and to discourage future illegal border crossers..

And how are they going to manage this roundup without being a police state about it?

Show me one time when they have announced their intention, that led to any such awareness, much less caused Congress to discourage future illegal border crossers. All they accomplished in the past was giving a heads up to illegals to hide.

The whole point behind the Democrats letting in the illegals is to grant them voting rights and giving the Dems an unbeatable majority so that they can install their vision of a Marxist police state.

This is a serious problem and now the remedy is much harder than it would have been if the problem had been addressed a long time ago and I would suggest that it is not being a police state to round up criminals who openly and brazenly break our laws. A police state is about denying law abiding citizens their civil rights. A police state is what we will have if we do nothing about this epidemic of illegal entry into the US.

Sunday bombshell: Pool for deportation is up to 1 million illegals who have already had due process

"Laying out this eye-popping number serves two important functions.

Sunday morning's network talking head shows yielded one eye-popping statement.

"They're ready to just perform their mission, which is to go and find and detain and then deport the approximately one million people who have final removal orders," Acting USCIS Director Ken Cuccinelli said on "Face the Nation" on Sunday, referring to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) branch charged with removal operations.

Cuccinelli, an immigration hardliner who took the helm of the agency last month, said it is within ICE's discretion to determine who among those with final orders of deportation will be targeted in operations, suggesting the full pool of approximately one million immigrants might not face deportation after all.

"They've been all the way through the due process and have final removal orders. Who among those will be targeted for this particular effort ... is really just information kept within ICE at this point," he added. "The pool of those with final removal orders is enormous."

The number one million has tremendous resonance: it is what first comes to mind as a really big number. It signals "mass deportations" — a bugaboo for Democrats and advocates of illegal immigration.

Having Cuccinelli lay out this number serves two functions.

    1. It is a signal to Trump's base that he will deliver on their concerns about illegal immigration. Many are disappointed that the border wall has not been completed or even adequately funded. Trump needs them to turn out in 2020. He cannot afford to discourage them.

    2. It is also bait to lure the Democrats into hysteria over "dividing families" and all the other heartstring-tugging memes they can devise. Trump wants this reaction because the Democrats, by advocating for people who have received due process and have flouted court orders, are defending outright lawlessness. Let them go out on that limb, and Trump will gladly saw it off during a presidential debate.

Note that Cuccinelli is a former NeverTrump who has agreed to serve in the Trump administration. If he handles this well, there may be greater things ahead for him, as he is a very smart and capable guy. I don't know him well, but I have spoken to him and regard him as rock-solid, despite his early reservations about and serious opposition to Trump's nomination.

Speaking with the White House in the background makes it unmistakable that he is on board and speaking for the president."

To simplify it, off the top of my head:
    • Even with the best of lists, there are bound to be some false positives. How many citizen Garcias and Villanuevas are going to be swept up? How many wrong doors are going to be broken in because ICE comes calling on the deportable Garcias and finds the Wisenewskis instead?
    • Will you be happy when an ICE agent asks you to verify your status? Lots of these deportees are not from south of the Rio Bravo. There are Irish and folks for the Former Soviet Union in the mix.

Do they even have South Americans in Kentucky? See all you gotta do is go to any town in NJ and wait for them to step out to work. Come to DOVER and the whole stinking town is dominated by them.

On your person when you're at Walmart? As I understand it drivers licenses don't count. And as I have noted the deportables include more nationalities than those from south of the Rio Bravo.

Easy, just carry your birth certificate and/or passport. Further, don’t look like a profiled Latin immigrant or turban canal driver and avoid Walmart, Popeyes, Paterson, Dover and standing on the Main Street waiting to get picked up. Oh and don’t wear a baseball cap. Another giveaway, refusal to learn or speak English.

They have passport cards now that are the size of a driver's license and fit in your wallet. Same thing for birth certificates so yep.

I used to walk in the morning and wore a faded BB Cap and I walked fast up town and these workers musta had a system cause as I’m walking I heard whistling coming from the 2nd floor buildings... then vans pulled up and these folks came out of the shadows and started piling in and the driver was waiting for me to get in also. I had to wave them off, vamoose ! And off they went... a new normal for me.

David, the idea that an American has to carry id papers on him at all times is antithetical and distasteful to me. My wife is Russian and grew up in the Former Soviet Union. She and her family had internal passports. If it becomes required, fine. But that doesn't mean I will be as cheerful about it as you seem to be.

I was simply answering your seemingly smart remark of whether or not I actually keep documents on me at Walmart. The answer, yes I do. Do I think it should be required? No, not necessarily. Do I support the ICE raids? Yes I do.
