at what age do kids in you churches start attending normal worship?

At what age do they start serving the body?

TIA

Start attending normal worship as soon as they are able to be quiet (in other words not an infant). If they are not disruptive they should be in the service in my opinion.

As far as service, it depends on the individual and what type of service they are serving in.

In my opinion as soon as they are able to comprehend the sermon.

The reason I believe this is I think it is important to teach children the gospel at a young age and disciple them from there. Conversion is difficult, in a way, when children grow up in church. I believe the focus for children should initially be evangelistic and confirmation rather than directed towards church edification.

Children should be with their parents as early and as often as possible. If an infant or child is disruptive one of the parents can take the child out of the service. Even if a child cannot fully grasp what the pastor is presenting during the sermon, I think it is far better for the child to be in the worship service than children's church.

How hold does a child have to be in order to serve? As @davidtaylorjr said, it depends.

Ours go to service taught by the youth pastor until 6th grade. As boring as our senior pastor usually is, I think thats a good thing.

In my opinion, he is.
Too many meaningless stories that he calls illustrations. Too little exposition of Scripture
I remember as a child doing my best to suffer through a 5 hour sermon that was directed towards adults (OK.... probably a 40 minute sermon, but to a child it was a lifetime). I learned to sit still and be quite. But I learned the gospel in Sunday School.

we don’t segregate our children from
The body of the church, rather they are part of the body.

Actually, a child is not a part of the body of Christ until they become a Christian. Presbyterians believe their baptized infant children are members of the visible body of believers. That is why they call them "covenant children". That is not the Baptist understanding.

In fact it is the exact opposite of Baptist understanding. Or should I say, the exact opposite of biblical understanding? ;)

I look at it this way - If we insist that a 7 year old (2nd grade) must sit in the worship service -
then he should accompany his older sister in her 10th high school classes. Nothing like
keeping the family together.

It is the family that teaches the child so it’s vital that they are there with the family at all times.

And that is precisely why we homeschooled our child. We did not want to send our child to a state school and then have to de-program our child every evening. Voddie Baucham once said, "If you send your children to Rome, do not be surprised if they come home Romans." Of course, each set of parents must make their own decision. Homeschooling was the decision my wife and I made.
