There's a new English Bible translation out - the LSV (Literal Standard Version), which is supposed to be a remake of the YLT(Young's Literal Translation). This remake is supposed to be literal, word-for-word as possible, but in an easier-to-read format than the YLT is.

Anyone have any skinny on this new work ?

No, I don't know anything about it. However, the stated goal is misguided. It seems to concentrate on individual trees and yet missing the forest. A context-for-context translation would be much better.

Word for word much better, essentially a literal translation!

Will it be based upon the TR then?

I don't know. Actually, I don't know anything about it except from some ad blurbs. I'm hoping anyone who has the skinny on this new version posts it here. I dunno if it's a great new translation, or just another moneymaking attempt.

It might be based on the Flexxus Receptionist for all I know !

LOL, this outfit 'published' LSV Apocrypha with Enoch, Jasher, and Jubilees a couple of years ago:

Let me connect the dots for you...

    Press release:

The brand new Literal Standard Version Bible translation
    Gary Ray's webpage: unsealed.org

Constitution of the 'Covenant Christian Coalition'

"the Bible mentions and makes allusion to several books that are not in the current Protestant canon such as Jasher, Enoch, and the Wars of the Lord. The true canon begins with Genesis, ends with Revelation, excludes the Apocrypha, and likely includes several of these other referenced books"

    https://www.amazon.com/Holy-Bible-Literal-Standard-Version/dp/0999892479

Paperback, and check out the amateurish 'illustrations':

1st chapter of Mark seemed like a really good translation. It was either a Textus Receptus or Byzantine Text.

John 3:16 (LSV) for God so loved the world that He
gave the only begotten Son, that everyone who is
believing in Him may not perish, but may have
    continuous life.

John 3:16 (YLT) for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten --
He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

Based on looking at this one verse, it appears to possibly be better than YLT as a comparison bible. However it stuck with the archaic understanding of some Greek words or constructions.

James 2:5 (LSV) Listen, my beloved brothers, did God not choose the poor of this
world, rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom that He promised to those loving Him?

    I like this rendering! :)

They don't seem to be willing to say who they are. Mormons in disguise? When people won't present their names when doing a Bible translation, I am already distrusting it.

It looks like yet another Pet Project Bible.

Great that they kept the only begotten rendering!

if this was based upon the Majority text, fits a real need, as not to many translations of whole bible off that!

It looks like it will be a really formal translation, which is good, but don't know if a definite need for it today!

One person translation, or a committee type work?

Not sure to be honest. But because of a few unique words I would guess committee.
