I thought you already had the rules in place. I saw several years ago an admin post something to the effect of "Calvinism nor Arminianism can be mentioned outside the C vs A forum." I can't swear to it, but I am quite sure it was Cassidy.

You're probably right in your recollection. The fact is when discussing/debating doctrine it can often (and I do mean often) unintentionally morph into C vs A. There was a time when the mods would move a thread (usually upon request) to the C vs A Forum when the thread subject changed, which is extra work for them. So, I'm for letting the mods determine how they wish to handle it.

Typically the C vs A was very loosely defined. Many who hold neither position have argued in the section. But the title seems to indicate a common error - that those are the only two views out there.

Perhaps it should be called something else. "Calvinism vs Everybody Else" comes to mind :Biggrin

Yep. Often posts end up there.

That said, if they are reported the thread....or posts....can be moved to the appropriate forum.

I think we (staff) could do a better job at looking put for such thread drift. But also it'd help if yall could report when it happens.

'Monergism vs Synergism' would be more correct (and inclusive, or less exclusive), I think.

The major problem of false accusations. Accusations of not actually being made by the opposing views

C vs A gives an illusion that, "A"*,
    could possibly be valid,
    or God Forbid, "as valid",
    as The Doctrines of Grace,

    which are a small portion
    of the Manifold Wisdom
    and Whole Counsel of God,

THE FAITH once delivered to the saints/
at I hold to these points of Calvinism (by the number of)

*"A" denies the Adamic sin Imputed to all of Adam's posterity leaves them Totally Depraved,
when Salvation involves being Convicted of being Totally Depraved, to start with.

I didn't say they were lost.

I say that a person should know
or be able to be Taught How they Were Saved,
(from Totally Depravity) if they are Saved.

Yep. There is Calvinism* and Arminianism*. But there are also quite a few positions that are neither.

That's why I think simply having a "Soteriology" section may be a good idea.

Romans 3:20; "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."

That's called the "Other Christian Denominations" thread.
The basic difference is synergism vs monergism.
