"Don't" for purposes of the 'wisecrack'; "doesn't" for purposes of my grammar teachers.

I have worked for women before.
In fact, I found out women in education run circles
around men in industry who have similiar levels of formal
education (Bachelor Degrees) and make twice as
    much as the women do.)

Sorry, I forgot the 'sarcasm' smilie :(

    Oh yes!
According to the leaders and leaderesses of the radical KJVO groups.
    Thou art the man!

It might interest you to know that the Douay Version of the NT is in about a 95% agreement with the 1611KJV with an abundance of verses which are virtually identical, so much so that it is evident that someone copied someone else.

The "only" fly in this ointment is that the Douay Version of the NT was published in 1582.

They have done a lot of research and footwork, spent many hours of time, in obtaining the public records, and so forth, to verify that the information about GAR's 2 divorces is absolutely true.

According to some "KJVO" one can only be saved from the KJB, but that is poppycock, else no one was saved prior to 1611!

Old news holds no interest for me. Besides, I cannot nor will not knock the Gospel being articulated through any media, it's just I don't advocate using that media and then try to validate it as the word of God.

    No fly in my ointment.

I've never read her salvation testimony, personally. Is it out there somewhere on the Internet or in one of her books?

Anyone can invent a salvation testimony, so I wouldn't concern myself with one from GAR. What I DO concern myself with is her myriad falsehoods & misinformation.

Welcome to the Baptist Board, belatedly.

I checked out the site being referred to. I did not see any way to find out the person of organization it belonged to. Whether or not I agree or disagree with information alleged on the site is irrelevant to this point. What is the stand of the individual or group making the case here?

From what little I was able to ascertain, the only thing the site would "link to" was Amazon, as they linked to most every book pictured, from several of the various points on the discussion of the KJ version?.

Do they 'own' that site, for the sole purpose of selling books? There is nothing intrinsically wrong with owning a site to sell books, but I would like to know who is the owner, personally.

However, I am fairly sure the individual that put the site together was not exactly the President of the local Dr. Gail Riplinger Fan Club, but perhaps may have been the leader of the local "'Dr. Gail'?? Rip into her!" group.

Now, Salamander, you should know that God's word tells us that only God removes someone's name from the Lamb's Book of Life. Maybe the real question is, Is GAR's name written there? I have spent over 2 years studying the words in NABVs that GAR claims to have quoted from books written by Westcott and Hort, etc. and have found that 99% of the time, she has twisted their words out of context so that they are no longer saying (in her book) what they said in the historic originals. This, as God's word calls it, is lying. A book full of 700 pages of this kind of lying, is habitual or willful lying. God's word also tells us that "all liars shall have their place in the lake of fire."

    Food for thought...

Hello, Ed :) Thank you for the welcome.

Let me clear up something very important about that site. I helped the person gather the information on GAR, which is how I know what a hard a task it can be to gather and verify public records and information.

The person who made the site put it up as a point of information, a kind of public awareness message for those who need to know the information. I only say someone is bashing GAR if they have not done their homework on her or her information. To warn God's children about a wolf in sheep's clothing or a heretic is not bashing someone. If that were the case then Paul would have been bashing Peter when he confronted him with the truth for his hypocrisy (although Peter was not actually a wolf in sheep's clothing).

The person who put the site together and I had a very bad experience with our former church. We were literally run out of it and laughed at by people who claimed to love Jesus Christ, all because we began using the NKJV alongside our KJV.

I was once KJO myself, for many years, until I began checking all the teachings and claims others had taught me. I got tired of just accepting things because so and so said they were true and had learned about them from another so and so. I am a Berean and check things out. So, that is what I did with the KJO doctrines I had been taught. I put them to the test of scripture, history, logic, and actual sources often misquoted by the "extremists." GAR had also invaded my former church. When I began to realize that she was an intentional liar, I got angry. More Christians need to get angry about false teachers invading God's churches.

The reason the owner of the site has decided not to place their contact information on the site is because of the many flames that obviously would fill his mailbox. The "stand" of the person stating the factual information that can be found out about GAR is that of a truth-loving Christian, a person tired of seeing people get sucked in by her honeyed false teachings.

The only reason the site links to Amazon.com is because that is where the owner knows a person can get a copy of the books he is recommending to those who might be interested.

The sole purpose of his site is to publicize a hidden truth about false prophetess Gail Anne Riplinger. She has been very careful to keep her past hidden, for obvious reasons.

I, personally, don't like to see false teachers raping the church with false doctrine made to sound so close to the real thing. Subtly is what Satan used on Eve. False teaching does nothing but cause division, as I experienced at my former church.

You won't find a publicly written personal testimony by GAR. Because I couldn't find one when I began my research on her, I wrote to her and asked if there was a place on her site, or somewhere, where I could read it. I received a short defensive reply that indicated how dare I ask for that, and then I was offered a CD I could call and purchase to "see" her testimony. I was rather shocked because I had expected a kind Christian reply that gladly offered the joyous testimony of one who has met the Lord.

Does someone have to believe they are a big somebody to charge for their testimony??

Yes, it is true that anyone can make up a Christian testimony. I have read about accounts of Christians who have discovered occult infiltrators inside churches that preached, led the music, taught youth groups, and talked just like they were Christians. How they were discovered was by being caught molesting some of the children in the church or being walked in on as they were doing occult ritual right inside the church sanctuary when the church was not in use.

This sheds light on the warnings that Jesus and Paul gave us about being careful not to be deceived (deception is such a tricky thing and looks so often like the real deal) and to beware of those wolves that would come into the fold wearing "sheep's clothing." They didn't warn us for nothing. :godisgood:

It certainly appears as if you are not the President of the Fan Club , either. [IMG]

FTR, I'm not exactly President of Dr. Gail Riplinger's local Fan Club, but I don't necessarily automatically consider her the epitomy of evil, either. I do not always agree with what she or about anyone writes, and in her case probably disagree more than do I agree, but I still never disagree merely on the sole basis of "who wrote it", either.

Actually, I'm not too sure about the "publicly written testimony", per se, although I, in no way, have anything against such. I do not have a "publicly written testimony", at least two of the last four pastors of our church do not have a "publicly written testimony" that I am aware of. FTR, one of them has been in the active ministry for over 40 years, until his back and knees got so bad he could barely get around, and he retired from the pastorate. However he did manage to become an interim for two months, but that was all he could 'stand', literally. The other is my current pastor, has been in the ministry for some thirty years, and was actually a classmate with me, in high school, here. And I have known both (and they have known each other, as well) for over 40 years. To my knowledge, neither of them have a 'publicly written testimony, although both have earned doctorates, and are considered faithful servants and preachers of the Word by most, including me. That is not to say that I agree with every word either of them say, but I still consider both very faithful men.

And I've known some individuals, who were fully well intentioned, IMO, as well as some who I consider less than completely 'worthy', who do have these published testimonies, but still, in whom I put very little stock.

That's pretty strange! We are to be ready to give an answer for the hope that is within us at any time--and not for money, either!
