The world is just getting worse and worse. It is a sad day when children are dehumanized, expendable commodities. What's even worse? The fact that such ideas are not far from home. You may not see a child suicide bomber in a city near you, but our children are just as mistreated and abused. Ever see an 8 year old running an "errend" for a "friend", i.e. neighborhood thug/dealer? Trust me it is an utterly reprehensible, and sad sight. :tear: :tear:
My heart weeps for this child. My heart weeps for all the misused, mistreated, under-appreciated, and ignored children wherever they may be.....:tear:

From the article:
"The paper said the boy's story could not be independently verified" -
Yes, it did. It also said the Taliban said they would never do such a thing. So what to believe? I have no reason to doubt the child.
-
Remember the child abuse paranoia about twenty years ago? Nah, a 6 year old would never lie.

Quote at the end of that same sentence:
"but local government leaders backed his account, and the U.S. and NATO military missions said they believed his story. "
Again ffrom the story:
"A NATO officer, Maj. John Thomas, said he initially was sceptical of Juma's story, "but everything I've heard makes me more comfortable." "We want to publicize this as much as we can to the Afghan people so that they can protect their children from these killers," he said. " -
Yeah, anyone associated with the United States government or the Afghanistan government is a totally reliable source of information.
-
And they will never be so long as the agenda is to belittle the war at any cost. -
I have always supported the effort to destroy al Qaeda and its Taliban allies. It's too bad that President Bush didn't finish the job in Afghanistan instead of foolishly invading Iraq.
-
Yes, but this thread isn't about that.

Timmy introduced that aspect to this thread, not me.
