How many Baptists still believe in a Literal Hell?
What exactly is the Lake of Fire in Revelation?
A Literal Hell?

I've heard there are people out there think the Lake of Fire isn't punishment, but just the experience of being immersed in God's burning love!

big lake, made of fire. I think.
Sounds like, one way or another, everyone will have a baptism of fire.
I wish I had more faith, spreading the Gospel should be a real priority in my life. Most people we see will be thrown alive into a lake of fire, perhaps because we didn't warn them.
I do believe it, but you couldn't prove it by how I act every day.

Hi Articbound, I believe hell is located in the center of this earth, Rev.9:1 and is the prison for all the wicked spirits until the day of judgement when hell will be cast into the lake of fire which will be the eternal abode of the wicked. Now if we really believed in a literal hell we wouldn't be spending so much time on here would we.

I come here to test my theological ideas and to learn, so I can serve our Lord better. Ask my co-workers if I look for opportunities to witness. But, I often miss ripe opportunities and bungle on others. So, I will have to say yes I do and yes I am still a falable human being.

I believe in a literal, eternal hell. It is called the "Lake of Fire", where sheol/hades are cast - and all souls in them - to join the unholy trinity of the beast (antichrist), false prophet and satan.
OT used sheol; NT used for the most part hades. Jesus also used the term "g'henna", the burning garbage dump on the western side of Jerusalem, as a very graphic pix of this Lake of Fire.
Lake of Fire is to me the most comprehensive term for what we in English call "hell".
