Never heard of a countdown clock to start a service.
Wonder what that cost that could have been spent on helping the poor?
What is so difficult about everyone being an adult, looking at their watch and thinking, hey it is time for church to start.
You have got to be kidding.
The cost?
I spent $10 on a few some years back.
They work great.
I also gave to World Hunger, Lottie Moon, Annie Armstrong, Rheubin South, and generally through the SBC's Cooperative Program, as well as other local charities.
If a church wants to use the countdown, they should.
What screen are you referring to? Do they show Loony Tune film clips prior to the movie & do they have intermission so I can buy popcorn at the concession stand?
How bout that new LED sign we just bought..... isnt that nifty. It could do the same thing. I can announce to the world (at least the community) how much time is left before service.....along with the current temperature & a traffic report. aint technology wonderful.
It costs us $50 a year to be a member of the site where I get a lot of my graphics.
I not only get countdowns but other graphics and small videos (movies) as well.
It's Motion Worship and it's really good.
We already have the screen, projector and computer and it just costs money to pay me to set it all up.
:)
So $50.
We gave out significantly more than that in just turkeys....and food.....and paying utility bills.....and medical bills....and providing a crisis pregnancy center.....and tons of other stuff.
So no worries.
Yep - There's that too but the girl who runs our ProPresenter is tentative and we like to have a background with graphics, numbers and music.
I guess I could automate a presentation.
Hmmm......
I have a respiratory infection I'm fighting off. I showed up Sunday morning for prayer. By the time SS let out everyone knew and avoided me like the plague. Even my wife said "don't touch me."
