The Apostle Paul states of the Gospel: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.[Romans 1:16]

There is no Power of God in the "A Statement of the Traditional Southern Baptist Understanding of God’s Plan of Salvation" . Rather, in a nutshell, it is a wimpy statement about the goodness and power of fallen man.

It is quote obvious that these people are either ignorant of Baptist History or simply ignore it. I would suggest they read the book By His Grace and for His Glory by Tom Nettles!

    Old regular...

    Huh???

The goodness and power of fallen man???

Where in the WORLD do you get such bizarre notions??

ALL men and women are fallen sinners, and NOTHING in the SBC statement contradicts that truth in any way, shape or form.

What is the purpose that each local church belongs to the SBC? It is suppose to be bringing local New Testement churches together to facilitate telling the Good News to a lost world. It is not a clearing house to rubber stamp your opinion about Calvinism or free will. Whether one belongs to the SBC or not, it is an organization the world looks at when they think about the Baptist faith. A lost person who hears the Gospel is not pondering if a Calvinist is trying to take over a non Calvinst church or vice versa. They are not focused whether their eternal destiny was decided in eternity past or not.

Does anyone, especially leaders in a local church, association, or higher level, ever consider the damage this type of nonsense creates? What is a lost person to think when they see documents, opposed to each other out of the same faith, make statements like "we affirm" or "we deny......" It sounds like a bunch of third graders in the middle of a "its mine" argument.

My problem? Nuff said, it is no wonder the SBC wants to get rid of Calvinists.

I am not SBC, but I understand what they are trying to do and why. The majority of folks in SBC churches do not agree with Calvinism and they do not want to be identified with it. They don't want a person to think of Calvinism when they think of "Southern Baptist".

I don't blame them. If I told someone I was a Baptist, and they said, "Oh, you are one of those guys that thinks God only loves a few persons and wants to send everyone else to hell.", I would be very offended. I would quickly explain that that is not my view of God whatsoever, and that is not the view of the vast majority of "Baptists".

You guys don't get it, most Baptists do not share your beliefs, and they want nothing to do with it.

It must be acceptable; you continually smear and falsely accuse and nothing is ever done about it.

read and learn Winman...instead of foaming out your "ideas"
Founders Ministries is a ministry of teaching and encouragement promoting both doctrine and devotion expressed in the Doctrines of Grace and their experiential application to the local church, particularly in the areas of worship and witness. Founders Ministries takes as its theological framework the first recognized confession of faith that Southern Baptists produced, The Abstract of Principles. We desire to encourage the return to and promulgation of the biblical gospel that our Southern Baptist forefathers held dear.

That is your twisted take on it.
What happens is someone in the church, the members discover some puritan books, start to see and hear verses they never heard during the sermonette their pastor offered week by week.
They want more of the word.Lazy church "members" who barely study a daily bread, feel threatened by those who are on fire, who desire to serve, learn , teach, and reform. They whine, and make caricatures of the position because they cannot answer biblically....you say:

Of course AIC...... apostasy ...is a falling away from truth....thankfully there are many solid southern baptists that will oppose this evil attack against believers.
Glad I could sound the alarm for you:thumbs:They got just about everything wrong. At least they are consistent, they did take a stand, they tried in the strength of the flesh. Sorry to see where they stand...opposing God's truth. This statement is so bad, I am thankful that many will turn to truth when they read this mis-guided statement.
