I received this book recently and just started it. Anyone finish it? Watching some of Jeremiah's video sermons he seems to hit it out of the park. No this is not grad level buy a lay level book but so far it seems very well written. This may be Jeremiah's best in his prophecy series.
Jeremiah is very gifted in this one area as it seems to be his major focus.
Anytime a TV preacher needs a big payday, they simply write a book on how close the second coming is and how the newspapers show its true. This has been going on for decades and Dispies keep buying them up. But why not, no one is ever held accountable for being wrong.
And every time a "dispy" writes a book there is always some grumpy old preterist who gets disgruntled and has his panties in a wad and feels the need to question his motives for writing it.
Why do preterists appear to be so angry? So you are not a dispensationalist. We get that and that is ok. It does not change the means to salvation by grace through faith. But, why the need for snide comments? Why the seeming arrogance?
Good question. If you don't believe in pre trib then so be it. If it happens the way the pre tribbers say it will then praise God you get to be with the Lord much sooner than you thought.
There's absolutely nothing 'benign' or harmless about the warmongering extremist views of the dispensationalists. The entire world is affected in some form or another from it.
I don't get caught up in titles. I believe believers will be gone before the tribulation happens. You know, if I'm wrong then I'll be ready for the tribulation and have faith I will endure until Jesus comes back. I'm not going to argue about it though. Has nothing to do with our salvation.
Perhaps, but when will these men ever be held accountable for their errors that have been going on for decades?
It's the same story decade after decade, they just shuffle the players according to what's hot in the news at the time.
I'm not angry, I fing it amusing yet somewhat sad. Go back and read who John R Rice thought the anti-Christ was. Go back and read Hal Lindsey and the Late Great Planet Earth, then his later addition. Then a decade later read his The Terminal Generation. (The one that had the 1980's as the last generation.)
Or how about John Walvoord re-writing his book when the world circumstances changed. Now that is smart, just change the names and the world powers and sell the same book to the next generation, Genius!
Now the next generation of "experts" come on the scene(Hagee, LaHaye, MacArthur) saying "no no, this is really it this time." and so the cycle continues and someday our grandchildren will be on this board having the same discussion because they will have forgotten the Hagees and Walvoords of the past. But I expect there will be a lot more preterist by then:wavey:
They looked for Return of jesus Christ, not the rapture of the Church.
As a consequence Scripture teaches that we should look for His Return.
Israel was brought under the judgment of God in 70 AD consistent with the promise of Jesus Christ in Matthew 24.
Why is it that the pre-trig-rapture-ready crowd want Israel to go through 42 months of grrreat tribulation?
