Very interesting article. I am not surprised. NPR covers much more in depth than regular new casts and almost always has people on both sides of the issue responding. An hour newscast with no advertisements can go into the news to a greater depth. Also, news programs with advertisers have to mute their reporting so as to not make their advertisers angry. I believe that is one reason why we get such watered down reporting from the regular media and why many stories are not touched by these same agencies.
You are showing gross ignorance by that statement. Apparently you never listen to NPR or watch PBS's News Hour. They almost always have both sides of an issue presented. Of course, we all know here that anyone who you disagree with for any reason is a liberal. So, any media outlet that would allow a person you disagree with would be considered liberal in your eyes. NPR and BPS presents a much more balanced presentation than regular media outlets ... but that makes them liberal in your eyes.
No, I won't take the bait from your reply.
After all you only make statements, but do not back them up.
As far as what I back up well we all know that is false. But it is interesting you make such a claim seeing there are a great number of posts made by a number of people to include you that do not get any backing. Of course I upset you
so you just reacted.
Everyone has a bias. Deal with it. MSDNC as it's called (MSNBC) practically reads from the DNC talking points every night. Fox News...well, it's conservative. NPR is
left of center. But just because someone is biased doesn't mean they can't be truthful at times or have good info. I regularly read/listen to/watch things I know I disagree with. I don't have to be reinforced all the time.
And I do agree that PBS/NPR should be defunded. Kinda hard to justify govt funding of television and radio entertainment when veterans are homeless or go without adequate health care.
This bias thing is all in your mind.
I'd like to see someone give concrete examples of liberal bias in the national media.
It just isn't there.
The only real bias exists for FOX News.
They're WAY OUT THERE.
Actually, all you have to do is look at what CNN reports on, and compare to what FoxNews reports on; and you'll see that each is biased.
All you have to do is listen to NPR while thinking like a conservative, and you'll notice bias. Shucks, listen to "A Prairie Home Companion," and you'll hear support for liberal candidates.
As has been mentioned: ALL news channels are biased in one way or another. Do your own research, being honest and using the most unbiased sources you can find, and make up your own mind.
