I say the same thing to you. I don't recognize any authority in either one of you. And I think we are on topic.

Judge not, lest ye be judged.

I did start the thread but I am not a moderator.
I believe it was a defense by Curtis. SFIC made a statement and Curtis said that it was not his place.

The topic is whether one can go a full day without sinning or not, not wine, not those who are devoted to God but don't even know His Son.

    We are way off topic.

I have a question, just where is this place that the omnipresent God is not?

That is another problem, we do not look for God, we do not seek Him for salvation, he sought us.

The underlying issue in all of this is works vs grace.

    True, that was the OP.
So, which do you believe, can one go a full day or not?
I haven't seen a clear belief of your either way on the issue.

All standingfirm said was 'let's get back on topic.'

Curtis apparently has a problem with the topic at hand since he cannot sensibly discuss it with Scripture. Many others seem to have the same problem.

I think I went through lunch today without sinning. Am I living in victory now?

    Dale,
It is my belief that if one is fully submitted to God, while one is fully submitted to God, one will not sin. For how long? The Bible is not specific on any amount of time.

Abigail told David at one point that there was no evil found in him all his days? The question is, when did she tell him this? was it after his night of adultery with Bathsheba? before? Had David truly been without evil before her statement?

As one posted earlier, Job was one who turned his back on evil? For how long, we do not know.

I do believe it is possible for one to walk in the Spirit and while that one is walking in the Spirit one will not fulfill fleshly lusts and desires.

Is it possible to go a full 24 hours? Yes, I believe it is.

The problem is, we tend to walk away from the Spirit at times. The Spirit may be trying to lead down one path while we want to go another. That is when the chastening hand of the Lord comes in. We stray, and the Lord chastens. When we receive that chastening, we will again focus our hearts on the things of the Spirit.

The Lord's chastening hand will convict of sin. It will convince of sin. If we turn not away from the sin after the Lord has revealed the sin, then, the Word of God tells us we are bastards and not sons.

Then please, have me kicked off the board, as I deserve no fellowship with the likes of you.

    Reading from Galatians, chapter 2...

16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

17 But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.

18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

19 For I through the law am dead to the law, that I might live unto God.

20 I am crucified with Christ: neverthless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

    Lets stick to the topic

And let me add a scripture that covers us all

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not"

HomeSkillets----there's the command--no two doubts about it--we are commanded NOT to sin.

But Romans 3:23 includes us, too because God's mind dwells in the eternal infinite world where He reads every thought and every imagination of the mind---and He knows our minds are not yet dwelling in a state of immortality---and He knows sure as we're sitting here that by and by---we're gonna BLOW that command that commands us NOT to sin

And thats why He has made provision---cause see---I don't know if I can make it 24 hours or 24 days or 24 months or the next 24 seconds before the carnal mind that still dwells in me will rear up its ugly head and I sin

He tells us NOT to sin

BUT read on to the end of the sentence of verse 1 of I John 2

"My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous."

If I sin---I have an advocate!!! When I confess that sin according to I John 1:9---He(the Lord Jesus Christ) is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"

When I confess that sin----its as if the Lord Jesus looks at His Father and says----"Father!!! David just confessed that(such and such)sin----Father!!!!!! I've got him covered!!!!

He tells me not to sin(thats the Father's perfect will)----but if I do(and remember---just one little impure thought---some little speck of unkindness toward someone in my heart)---I confess that sin--repent of it---and throw myself at Jesus' feet---He's got me covered!!!

Now---if you reckon you can go on and on and on and on in a sinless state----fine and dandy---that just tells me---well---you don't need Jesus as your advocate---but I promise you on the authority of the Scripture---that IF you do sin---you're gonna need an advocate!!! Just remember---IJohn 2:1 gives you one!!! Amen?????

    Curtis,

What does Galatians 2 have to do with this? I have already stated that one has to walk with Christ, I have said one has to place one's trust in Christ.

Have you kicked off the board? Isn't that a little extreme? I will not have you kicked off of the board. You will have to do that yourself.

The likes of me? Such an attack is not necessary. It is definitely not Christ-like.

But it is a sane request...

We don't need to get into an endless wine vs. grape juice argument when something as important as having victory over sin is concerned.

Somebody is in dire need of an advocate, aren't they???? Even if you can enter that sinless perfection and break the record and go on past 24 hours---thing is---when you approach the Throne where the Father dwells---you're gonna find that----whoops---God's judgment fire found a shrivel of a sin that YOU omitted but you thought you didn't---and then you still can't plead your sinlessness before God without that advocate!!!!
