LK.2:13 Glory to God in the highest & on earth
peace, good will towards men. the first thing that
popped into my head was -The King is Coming ! -
It doesn't say the angels sang, though I think they did.

No version that I've found says angels sang at the birth of Christ. So do angels sing their message?

There is no reference to angels singing anywhere in the Bible. The closest we get is in Revelation!
The only reference I am aware of to singing which is not done by humans is in Job when the morning stars sang. And they are NOT angels! The angles, there, SHOUTED for joy.
We, however, are commanded throughout the Bible to sing praises to the Lord, and that is a total joy to obey that one.
edit:
however, "Hark the Herald Angels Talked" just doesn't have the same sort of feel to it... :D

How else could one describe such a thrilling, heavenly sound? Even the best singing on earth is mere sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal in comparison.
The term "sing" is used metaphorically just as often as literally in English, and I would venture to guess in any other language as well.
Why else would Paul describe the use of tongues in terms of musical instruments?
I Cor. 13:1 and I Cor. 14:6-9.
