Good evening -
Tonight we began a Book which is considered one of the jewels of the Hebrew language, the Book of Ruth. The time period for this Book is during the time of the Judges and actually shines out as a bright spot amidst the dark, violent immoral reports of that time. Ruth is a story of loyalty and family devotion.
The first chapter which we read tonight is the prelude to this short story: Naomi's emptiness. I think that you will find a great deal of beauty and balance to this story. Ruth has already been counter-balanced by Oprah, as Ruth clung to Naomi while Oprah abandoned her.
In 1Corinthians, Paul is preaching the very heart of the Gospels and Chritian belief. If we do not have faith in the Resurrection, then all of our philosophy is vanity.
May God bless you
- Clint
