HCL, it teaches that women should be submissive to their husbands as the church is to Christ, and that men should cherish and nourish their wives.
I don't think that many have a problem with that. The problem I have with the type of submission that you seem to believe in is that it calls for women to continue being submissive in physically harmful situations, or in the manner of "if I put four ice cubes instead of three in his drink and he is displeased I will go get the paddle for him". This doesn't seem to be biblical submission, and in fact seems as if it would encourage men to behave as dictators toward their wives. Wearing jeans doesn't bring out these thoughts in me, and wearing dresses wouldn't squelch them. I go by the bible. (and rarely wear jeans btw, have had one pair in five years).

I NEVER EVER said that a woman is to remain in a PHYSICALLY HARMFUL SITUATION. Please do not add to my words.

Nor, did I say that a woman ought to encourage her husband to beat her, NEVER.

HCL, I apologize if I'm wrong, but I seem to recall more than one occasion where a female posted marital problems which included physical abuse and your advice was to stay and be a good submissive witness.
I did not say anything about *purposely* getting a husband to hurt a wife, but allowing and encouraging oneself to be treated as someone less valuable than the spouse or simply in an obedience role seems to encourage men to treat women in that manner. I've seen numbers of domestic violence cases end when the wife quit acting like a three yr. old trying to please daddy.

No problem. I do believe that a woman ought to remove herself physically from an abusive situation but to remain married, yes.

I have seen it the other way around, not abusive cases but husbands who are not walking with the Lord. When the lady finally submits the husband begins leading and following the Lord.

Ladies and Gentlemen, why is it that we must get all bent out of shape on the clothing issue. I will caution us all to be careful and not harm others with our liberty or condemn others that we feel abuse that same liberty.

When a woman has this submission over all else banged into her head constantly, I think it often becomes a form of Stockholm Syndrome, where a prisoner starts to identify with their captors. This is much like Patricia Hearst's episode as Sonja with the Symbionese Liberation Army. Unfortunately, women who take it to the extreme seem to find guys who are happy to do the same...a perfect recipe for abuse, coulottes or not.

Well, have about "worn out" those most immodest coulottes? And condemned each other?

A new thread on hair should get our focus.
