I know, I know, it's all the biggest con ever perpetrated on the world. Yep, it's all a lie. St. Augustine, Iraneous, St. Justyn Martyr, all the monks and scribes, the monasteries, the Great Schism, the Bishop of Rome, everything. None of it ever really existed or happened. Yep, then one day your sect popped up out of thin air, with the "real truth", right?

Its more like over time, Catholicism departed from the Truth in which it began. It slowly became nothing more than a system to extort money and gain political power.

Again, no evidence that Peter was ever in Rome.
A few folks living hundreds of years after Peter make an unverified claim. Write it down as accurate.

Either you have solid evidence or you have to admit your claim is of no more merit than any other unsubstantiated claim.

Believe the story if you wish, but hush with the ludicrous claim that Rome is the one true church. All you're providing is a made up story that you believe because you refuse to think critically about your denominational claims.

John Yurich, I think you are posting stories to provoke strong responses. For one thing, you don't seem very knowledgeable about Baptist life. You say your were baptized into the Baptist church but that you won't be a member until you have had classes. Some Baptist churches withhold membership after baptism but most do not. And those who do are for the most part Calvinists who would smell you out and send you packing in a New York minute. And this thing about contributing a nickel occasionally makes no sense at all. Finally, it would be difficult to attend two churches without people knowing about it, unless you chose two churches that are very far apart. If I went to a Catholic church in my town on Saturday night, word would get back to my church before Sunday morning. In short, I submit there is something wrong with this story.

See your changing your story. Give us a DATE when it last worked fine. And we will show you CATHOLIC doctrine before your date.

You make accusations with no historical evidence. All heresay. How bout some TRUTH how about some evidence?

Slap a date down when it was fine, and your going to get crushed by the same catholic teaching.

Cowards and Liars make accusations without evidence.

Old saying to get into history means to cease being protestant. I dare you to study history. History will slap one upside their head.

The only fumes you all are running on is on lies and no evidence and having to make up what Catholics actually believe.

What you are doing is honorless. Put up the evidence brother. State the time , Put up some names.

Folks are to chicken to challenge the church so they make things up without evidence for it. Zero Evidence.

Right here God is not on your side.

Is it possible that his bones were moved to Rome?

Pretty easy to put your bloomers in a bunch. The Roman Catholic shift to apostasy did not happen in a day. It began in earnest around 300AD and was mostly complete by 600AD. The churches dark and sinful actions throughout the middle ages is evidence of that apostasy.

Salty Said: We dont see the term catholic in the Bible - we do see Churches of Christ, ect

and generally when church is used in the NT - it is talking about a local church - not a universal church.
A good study of Matt 16:18 is in order.

The term "catholic" doesn't even refer to the Roman Catholic Church in many extra-biblical writings, to include those of the early church.

Like all institutions led by humans, sometimes sinful men hold sway. Yes, the Catholic Church has had it's share as does your church. I think your sect is an apostate Christian church because so many of your doctrines are just plain wrong, heretical in fact, when held to the standard of historical Christian orthodox teachings.

And what about your denominational claims? Over 1400 years down the line from when mine started and now only you have the truth? Haaaaaaaaa! That's a good one!

Why that sounds familiar. Pharisees come to mind.

How about when held up to Scripture?
So many of your writings don't hold up under the word of God.

    Sola Scriptura

Let us sharpen our swords on God's word rather than dull our blades on the faulty claims of a church denomination.
