My wife is a MI girl, and we have a bunch of fundamentalist supporting churches in MI, and none of them are anything like that. All are out every week trying to win strangers to Christ in their local communities. One church is very involved in the local mission. Several have bus ministries reaching out to poor kids. Most are involved in camps reaching out to young people. All the pastors do hospital visitation and visit others not of their church all the time. I could go on and on. I really don't think you know the IFB churches of MI.

Could very well be true! Not saying anything badly about the IBF here in MI, its just that they do tend to not interact much with other believers! they tend to be stauch KJV think that too much interacting with other "non Fundementalist" churches can be hazerdous to their spiritual health!

ALL true Christians would agree on the essentials of the faith, and its up to us to keep the peace/unity of the body in disputable areas!

And Christians called to seperate from NON BELIEVERs, NOT other genuine believers who just happen to disagree on some issues with us!

It is obvious from your posts that what I regard as an essential doctrine, you don't. Therefore I would separate from your church. I would never join it, or even have fellowship with it.

Now why would I do that? All doctrine is essential. That is my stand. Jude said that we need to contend for the faith. He did not say "part of the faith."

To be fair John, Sanderson's church does those things too, but he is extremely isolationist...

The churches you mention, do they work with the other churches in their town ministerial association?

To the op, this is a prime example of a prooftext the IFBs use to separate themselves into little cliques.

Most Fundamental Baptists will not allow another denomination to work along side them.. thus they isolate themselves.

Please show us ONE verse that says genuine believrs need to seperate from each other, EXCEPT for one contiuning in sin and as a church discipline?

Other than that, NO passage says real Christians seperate on non essential doctrines! as We all do have core "like faith and practices!"

Can two walk together, except they be agreed? (Amos 3:3)

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. (Romans 16:17)

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. (2 Thessalonians 3:6)

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, (2 Corinthians 6:17)

I'll separate from any believer who I believe will harm the precious sheep God has called me to pastor. Three times I've had Charismatics try to mess up my church. I'll separate from a Charismatic as soon as I find out what they are.

DHK, do you draw the line between what is doctrine and what is preference?

John, what belief does a charismatic hold that in and of itself would cause you to seperate over?

IF those questions seem to off topic for this thread, please reply to this thread that I began a couple of weeks ago on the subject:

You are wise to do so, their doctrine, and lack of doctrine is destructive.
