This question is for pastors -
But I would like to hear from all.
What would you have done:
I was officiating a graveside committal today- and it started to rain - a 2 or 3 folks put up umbrellas. I was more than halfway done. I then somewhat expedited the remainder. I did want to give a good presentation of the Gospel. I did not know the spiritual condition of anyone, except the couple who asked me to to do the service. There were about 20 people there. I was concerned with the rain, many would resent my Gospel presentation.
Thoughts?

In any case, the Spirit is the one who uses what has been said — even if you did not say everything you intended to say. Moreover, God sent/allowed the rain, so He was not taken by surprise.
You were both loving your neighbor AND using wisdom in the moment. The work of God is not overcome by a rain shower or you not getting to say everything you would normally say. -
Hmm - I may just ask the funeral home about that.
And thank you for your kind words -
