The late Benazir Bhutto was a very singular individual, a rare combination of beauty, brains, and effective ability, all wrapped up in one family woman, with a family, as well, who could simultaneously inspire such adulation by some, and hatred and envy by others who could never even dream of attaining such status and power, and hated her for her achievements.
And she represented a threat to those who do not want to move the world of Islam even "forward into the stone age", as well as a threat to those who have a lot of power, currently.
How else can one account for those as varied as Al Quaeda, the Taliban, the Military 'dictatorship', and other 'terroristic elements' all virtually "standing in line to kill her", even attempting this from Day 1, when she arrived back from her self-imposed exile into Pakistan?
The really big losers here?
Her family, her country, and the whole region.
It was mentioned today that she died due to a head injury trying to duck back into the vehicle.
Her head hit a sunroof latch, fracturing her skull.
She was not shot (as reported) nor was any shrapnel found in her body.
If she would have just stayed in the car, she would have sustained no injuries like the others in the vehicle.
==That explanation is the "offical line", however it is contradicted by the home video of the event which clearly shows a gunman on the back of the car firing at the woman three times before the explosion. It also contradicts the eyewitness account of a CNN reporter who said he heard three shots, Bhutto fell through the sun roof, and then the explosion. There was no autopsy done on the body and the fact that there was no bullet in her body on x-ray does not mean that her injuries were not caused by a bullet. Also the video shows little/no security around her van. CLICK HERE
