BJU's anual Bible Conference will be March 20-25 at BJU in Greenville SC.
Come on up, down, over, or whatever.
It's always a blessing. You'll learn a lot. You'll remember some of what you learn.
You don't wanna miss it.

Oh, is Ian Paisley going to be there this year again? {crossing fingers}
I'll be there Lord willing -
IIRC, my pastor, David Innes of Hamilton Square Baptist Church will be there to speak.

Cool deal

Sorry. I'm a Baptist and not about to be yelled at by Paisley again. ONCE is more than enough!! ;)

 I live in Greenville but I'm sorry...I won't be attending. The last one of those I went to years ago was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop in the place.I'm afraid that if God moved upon me to shout AMEN! to something I'd be looked upon as if I had the plague.Maybe things have changed....but I don't think so.If they have then somebody straighten me out! It's just a matter of liberty to me.

(by the way Doc,Paisley is OK...but yeah...he can get carried away.) -
Ok, ok.
So Bob Jones University may be a very formal place, however I don't find in the Bible where vocal response from the audience is necessary ;) -
If Larry King asked Bob III why he invites Ian Paisley to speak on his campus, do you think Bob III would have a change of heart and stop inviting him!

Hmm, it may be a northern thing but compared to churches I know that are of southern lineage, my home church is just as quiet. But then the previous pastor (1941-1977) wore a swallow tail coat in to the pulpit on Sunday mornings in his early years with us.

Hey...I'm NOT saying that I have to say amen in every service I go to but I would like to feel as though the liberty to do so exists if the Lord so leads me.Besides...I think a lot of our "quiet" brethren are gonna be in a definite state of shock when they one day stand in the "Throneroom" and hear the saints praising God.Just for the record....I do believe in doing things decently and in order.AMEN....lol

Hey, this isn't a debate about Paisley or about shouting amen, people. :D
I love ya all and hope to see a good deal of you at the conference although I won't even know you're there since I don't know you . . . heh heh.
FYI, Paisley is not able to come, though he was invited to speak.
And I am a generally quiet sister . .. but I am not at all offended by someone who wants to say "amen" in a service. I have done so, allbeit rather softly, myself a few times. And I have heard some speakers say it encourages them to hear some kind of response.
Gregory, you should come. I think perhaps it is not quite so formal as it used to be. You can bring your kindrid and come sit with me for an evening service and I promise not to go ballistic if you shout AMEN! Really, come and check it out again.
Once again, I love ya all in Jesus Christ. -
I wish I could go. Haven't sung the "Gloria Patria" in a long time . .
(Just poking fun. Trust it will be a blessing!) -
What state/area are you at Dr. Bob. . .Jones, j/k
