Bob Woodward’s new book reveals a ‘nervous breakdown’ of Trump’s presidency

John Dowd was convinced that President Trump would commit perjury if he talked to special counsel Robert S. Mueller III. So, on Jan. 27, the president’s then-personal attorney staged a practice session to try to make his point.

In the White House residence, Dowd peppered Trump with questions about the Russia investigation, provoking stumbles, contradictions and lies until the president eventually lost his cool.

This thing’s a goddamn hoax,” Trump erupted at the start of a 30-minute rant that finished with him saying, “I don’t really want to testify.”

A central theme of the book is the stealthy machinations used by those in Trump’s inner sanctum to try to control his impulses and prevent disasters, both for the president personally and for the nation he was elected to lead.

Woodward describes “an administrative coup d’etat” and a “nervous breakdown” of the executive branch, with senior aides conspiring to pluck official papers from the president’s desk so he couldn’t see or sign them.

    ***************************************************************************
To sum it up, Trump isn't sane but that doesn't surprise me.

From what I have heard, he has audio tapes of many (or all) of the interviews.

Defense secretary Matthis and chief of staff Kelly have both made statements strongly denying quotes attributed to them by Woodward.

I've heard the tape of his discussion with Trump about why Trump refused to be interviewed for the book.

    Trust but VERIFY.

    Let us all hear it.

But what difference does it make that he refused to be interviewed?

Why should Trump talk to Democrat Woodward? Would some Democrat talk to D'Souza for his next book?

Now the FBI got Martha Stewart on the perjury trap. If there were an honest Democrat and he were called in for questioning by the FBI and if he was stupid enough to answer their questions without a lawyer and if he said Indianapolis when he meant Minneapolis, and if another witness said it was Minneapolis, then the honest Democrat if there was such a person would be arrested for perjury. That's the law. Never talk to the FBI.

Let me say that again: Never talk to the FBI. You need a lawyer right away.

The Book, the Dossier, originate from carefully crafted deception.

Expect a flood of libelous publications between now and November to hit the presses.

There will be claims of tapes, documents even perhaps videos which many will claim to have heard and seen - but OH, Wait they are almost here, another day or two, I've seen them, they exist, they are coming as we speak, blah, blah, blah...

    Very shrewd observation!

The idea that Trump is having anything other than the time of his life is nuts. In Indiana the other day, people were turned away in Evansville because there wasn't room in the arena and southern Indiana leans Democrat. The people like Trump because he has the common touch. His wife will be remembered as one of the greatest First Ladies.

Problem is, the book is a work of fiction.

I was born in Evansville. My Dad, now 92, is always telling about how life was during his early years there. His folks were always Baptist. Took the family to church several days a week. Grandma played piano, & Grampa sang base. I wish I could hear him again, just one more time. All the family reunions included singing while Grampa played steel guitar, or his ukulele, with Grandma at the piano. Good times. No phones, no video games, just pitching washers or horseshoes. Oh, & let’s not forget the food......fried chicken, milk gravy, & always chocolate pie. Heaven on earth.
His Dad & the whole church, were Democrats. There was a heavy KKK influence in the church, always trying to get Grampa involved. He, at least, resisted that. The difference today is people cannot be controlled in their thought, & anyone paying attention (many are still too lazy be properly informed), can plainly see what the Dems really stand for today, & it is NOT Christian values.

So far there has been only one tape posted on the BB - a phone conversation with Woodward and the POTUS.

It is a nothingburger apart from the President turning the conversation into a campaign speech.

    Try again.

In an exchange of polite insults, Woodward spent over 10 minutes to tell the president it wasn't a nice tape :Roflmao

The book has already gone the way of all flesh along with the dossier. R.I.P.
