(CNN) -- Sherry Johnston, whose son is having a baby with the daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, was arrested Thursday on drug charges, Alaska State Police said.
Johnston's teenage son, Levi, is the boyfriend of Bristol Palin, eldest daughter of the former GOP vice-presidential nominee.
Johnston was arrested in her home in Wasilla, Alaska, on six felony counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance, police said.
The warrant resulted from an undercover investigation that "had been going on for a while," Alaska State Trooper spokeswoman Megan Peters said.
Peters would not describe the type or amount of drugs allegedly involved in the arrest, saying such disclosures "could hamper the investigation."
Deborah Miller, supervisor of the criminal department in the clerk's office in Palmer, Alaska, told CNN that Sherry Johnston was released on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned January 6.
Palin spokesman Bill McAllister would not comment on the arrest.
"This is not a state government matter," he said.

Who cares? How is this a news story of any relevance?

It is news, so it is relevant to our day and time. May be a sad story ... and surely it is, but it is news.

It's only news because it involves someone famous. Otherwise, if it were Mary who lives down the street? Not so much.

This doesn't affect anything in my life or my interests, so I honestly don't care. This has no reflection on Sara Palin or her daughter.

How is this news or relevant? There were likely thousands of people arrested on drug violations in the last few days, none of whom are mentioned here. What makes this newsworthy? That someone can use "Palin," "drugs," and "arrest" in the same sentence?

Let's demand more from this board than to post this kind of nonsense.

The real question is why the media even considers this newsworthy.

But we know the answer to that , don't we?;)

I thought it was newsworthy, and I am not a partisan hack. This is a news item, from a news source, in a news forum. My motives for anything don't need to be questiones, I was her biggest fan, even though I didn't vote for her, I fought off the slanderous posts about her from the left right here, on this board.

Let's demand more from our posters, that they aren't so self-righteous.

The above is only to PL, noone else.

Curtis, just wondering why you feel this is a newsworthy story?

The mother of the boyfreind of the daughter of Sarah Palin?

Does Levi Johnston even live with his mother?

I understand that the drug in question is OxyContin.

Was she legally prescribed the OxyContin by a doctor for some medical condition?

What is the purpose in bringing this to our attention?

I'm not going to explain myself any further. You guys cast all the stones you want. Get me banned for breaking a rule, maybe. But you'll have to look in another thread, won't you ?

What a bunch of judgmental Christians we have here.

And one more point, targus, I don't have to have a reason to post anything. Assign any purpose you want, to it.

Don't worry Bro Curtis,

With all the [edited to say stuff-LE] that is being posted daily on this board, I don't think you need to worry about your thread.

You are very right though, there are a bunch of people that cry over the silliest things.

You're a good person and a good member of this board, there is no need to explain anything.

Hope you're doing well... want some snow? :)
