Good for Caldwell. Glad to see this.

Dobson appears to have taken a page out of the SBC playbook of some "leaders" I won't mention in smearing anyone who does not totally agree with them. Glad someone is standing up to him, but Caldwell best watch out as wrath will descent on him from a number of quarters.

Most African-Americans are supporting Obama. It's not all that notable that Rev Kirbyjon Caldwell is also.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to make this comment. Thanks for fulfilling my prophecy so quickly!

Is this guy Bush's pastor, or is the thread title misleading?
I don't know if W is a member of Windsor Village UMC, but Caldwell officiated Jenna's wedding and provided the benediction at both of W's inaugrations. I got the thread title from one of the stories on this, so if it is wrong, so are all the news orgs reporting on it. There has been a close relationship between Caldwell and the Bush's for years back in Houston.

Also Caldwell is not just a pastor. He is well connected in the Houston business community, sitting on the boards of both Reliant Energy and Continental Airlines. He also is a minority owner of the NFL Houston Texans.

Clearly just the rant of another liberal pastor who doesn't like the truth spoken in God's word. What else would Dobson expect from the left and their Obama worship; a pat on the back? I don't think so.

From the 1st article: "Never in the history of American politics has someone said that he is a Christian and someone came back to say, 'No you're not.'"

That is preposterous and an outright lie. Remember '84? Geraldine Ferraro made the statement: "He [Reagan] says he is a Christian, but I don't beileve that for one minute, because his policies are so terribly unfair."

I find it hard to hold Ronald Reagan up as a "good" Christian. I mean, when did it become all right for a Christian or someone who says they are a Christian to use fortune tellers? I have found it interesting that so many Christians claim Reagan was a Christian since the news broke of his using an astrologer to make decisions while he was in the White House.

"It wasn't widely circulated until the publication of Donald Regan's memoir, For the Record in 1988, that President Reagan and his influential wife sought the advice of an astrologer. Time magazine would later identify Ron and Nancy's chart reader as being San Francisco astrologist Joan Quigley. Quigley was not the first astrologer the Reagans had consulted. Ronald and Nancy Reagan had a long history of involvement with astrologers and psychics. During the 1950's and 1960's, Ron and Nancy enlisted the services of Hollywood astrologer Carroll Righter, and later Jeane Dixon. In his 1965 autobiography, Where's the Rest of Me?, Reagan said that he and Righter were friends, and that he and Nancy read Righter's column "regularly." (It was on Righter's advice that Reagan postponed his inauguration as governor of California for 9 minutes until the auspicious moment of 12:10 a.m.)"

A "good" Christian?

Coming from those "good' Christians who actively support the murder of babies and wink at the destruction of marriage by backing politicians who advance both agendas, your assessment bears little weight.

Yet the one of MANY articles you chose to link doesn't match your thread title "Bush Pastor."

I see no reason why this man cannot be called a Bush pastor in a general sense.
