YOu stand corrected even more than you think. There were not 16 cabinet resignations. The topic here is cabinet resignations, and as of this morning (Dec 9), FoxNews reports 8 cabinet resignations. I already gave you the link. It appears from your list that only the first 9 are cabinet secretaries.
Others are not included in that count, and there is absolutely no reason to think it will be unprecedented, but even more, there is no reason to care. Changes in these positions are routine in every administration.
What is your problem? </font>
Pastor Larry, I stand corrected once again, it is not 15 "CABINET" members, BUT, 15 chiefs of Federal Relevant Organization that BUSH oversees that has resigned!
But I find it funny that most of the 9 resigned before the election, and the heads of the CIA, FEMA etc.!

I don't see Pastor Larry calling Ron dirt - only pointing out the fallacies in his posts.
He said in post number 2 of this thread, in answer to LadyEagle's question about cabinet resignations "I think it is 15, with maybe more to come" Then said that this has never happened in the history of the US or even the world, all of those statements have been proven to be in error.
Presdident Bush has plenty of flaws, lets not make up flaws to go with them. -
(Ronald's retraction posted while I was typing)

It happens to every administration, quit reading anything into it.

When you come in here, you need to have your facts straight. Most of the time, at least one person will check them out and see if they are right.
There are a lot of us who have various problems with the Bush administration, including high spending, expansion of hte federal government, and lack of action on abortion. But we need to make sure we get the facts straight before we cite them.
And it is nice to see Jim contributing nothing to the topic but rather talking about Larry again. Actually, it's not nice. It is all too familiar. And Jim is wrong. I didn't call anyone dirt, nor did I say anything negative. I just pointed out factual errors. -
Like I said, I agreed with him. I just get tired of the condescending tone. Maybe it's just me. Forget it.
-
I wasn't saying anything in reference to you in that part of the post Jim, sorry if you took it that way.

No problem.

My appreciation and thanks go to all those who served our nation and my best wishes and prayers to to all those who will now serve in their places. I respect the right of the President to select those persons with the best qualifications for the particular job at hand at the situation of the times. These people are administrators selected to implement the business of their respective departments according to the President's polices within established law. The Congress has to power to approve or disapprove of them. There should be no problem with the majority, if not the totality, of those selected by the President. I also respect the choice of some to move on to various other opportunities. There's nothing negative about the process. It's a chance of the guard not uncommon in business or government and doesn't imply anything bad.

Can't wait to see some of the books that these folks will write now.

The Question is, can you document that it has not? ;)
What I do know for a FACT is that it has never happened in America's HISTORY! And I am will to put all I have on that it has not happened in ANY OTHER NATION!
Why is it happening? I know, but do you know, or are you comfortable living in fantasy?
Ron </font>
You made the claim - it is up to you to document it. Thats how things work .
It is obvious you are new here. I am not a Bush supporter, did not vote for him in the last election, etc.
I am simply opposed to unsubstantiated claims. </font>
If you have a problem with the Claims, then show something that opposes what I wrote. I you are have any resources that state other wise please show them, but I do not have any references for Foreign Nations, but the point you clearly missed was that this is unprecedent in the history of National Presidental HISTORY! ;)
Ron </font>
Is that a guilty until proven innocent mentality. I wonder what kinds of defammatory claims I could make about you. I wonder if you would ask me to prove my claims or if you would sit around saying, "Well, I guess if I can't produce any evidence that I didn't do what he claims I did, I will just have to live with it". Get real, man. With that kind of logic, ...well, let's just say that posting absurdities are against the rules of this board.

I stand corrected, 16, one being the Deputy to Powell. More will come and it will be unprecedented in the History of US Presidency.
Now the article you provided from Yahoofinance is dated November 15th, and it it states that 8 have resigned; But Principi has resigned!
"In all, eight people have resigned from Bush's original cabinet. In 2001, Mel Martinez, housing and urban development secretary, and Paul O'Neill, treasury secretary, stepped down."
" Reagan saw all but one of his cabinet positions change hands during his two terms in office from 1981-1989."
Now I have a list of Heads that Served UNDER THEIR BOSS "GEORGE W. BUSH", who resigned;
1.Ann M. Veneman
2.Don Evans
3.Rod Paige
4.Spencer Abraham
5.Tommy Thompson
6.Tom Ridge
7.John Ashcroft
8.Colin Powell
9.Anthony Principi
10.Christie Whitman
11.George J. Tenet
12.James Pavitt
13.Rosario Marin
14.Joe Allbaugh
15.Ari Fleischer
16.Richard Armitage (Colin Powells Deputy) if you choose to count him!
Ron </font>
What Cabinet seat did Anthony Principi hold?
What Cabinet seat did George J. Tenet hold?
What Cabinet seat did James Pavitt hold?
What Cabinet seat did Joe Allbaugh hold?
What Cabinet seat did Ari Fleischer hold?
What Cabinet seat did Richard Armitage hold? -
I was hopeful that this forum might be devoid of Bush Haters.

Guess again OldRegular.
The forum runs the gamut. From those who despise Bush and question his salvation, to the right wing Constitution Party people, to the right-hand middle grounders (myself included) who voted for Bush even though we don't agree with all of his policies, to those on the slight left who voted for Kerry or just don't like Bush or conservative politics in general, and in a few instances, though not as many as there used to be, there are those who are just plain liberal. Most of the libs on this board are from other countries, by the way.
I would say that the majority of us do not hate Bush, but that same majority questions many of his policies as being contrary to conservatism.
I never gave you a proper welcome, BTW, so welcome to the BB. -
Old Regular,
A belated welcome from me, also.
As to Bush haters, I don't think you'll find them here. Maybe you are confusing opposition to his policies with hatred of him as a person.
If you want a board that censors anything that disagrees with Bush, I have heard that FreeRepublic ousts people for failing to support him. I've never bothered to check, but that's what I've heard.
It might save time, though, just to browse the GOP website every morning, and listen to Limbaugh every afternoon. Best of all, you'll be able to just shut down you mind and not waste any energy thinking about what really are his actual policies. -

I think that Bush should fire Norman Mineta at transportation. The notion that one should have a Democrat token in the cabinet as a kindness should be set aside. The cabinet should belong to the President's party.
I am happy that Powell is gone. He needs time to recover from his cancer operation and rest from his long years of duty to the USA. He should run for office sometime. -
Yeah, maybe he could further advance the cause of killing babies.
