I hope you're not referring to me. I agree that Fox is the most highly rated news network and I don't think they will lose that title any time soon. My point is that they are not necessarily the first place that advertisers think about.

Frankly I do not understand why anyone watches news casts or new talk shows on commercial TV. Far too much time is spent on ads and almost none on any depth of coverage. I consider my time left on earth too valuable to spend 40% of my news time watching ads.

Also, I give no credence to any political talk show.

I agree with you. Furthermore, establishment advertisers with lots of money do not like the point-of-view of Fox and they spend their money with other networks. Does anyone think that Warren Buffett is going to advertise his railroads that have the monopoly on oil from Canada as long as there is no pipeline on an impartial news show? Or that Mr. Pelosi is going to advertise Chicken of the Sea tuna on Fox? Many blue-chip corporations are solid Democrat.

Yeah, you're right. My posts should be in a thread titled "Cable Advertisers Getting Smarter--Dumping Fox News".

Actually, I think they would - if the demographics fit the product. Money talks!

That just about sums up every corporate sponsored "news" broadcast doesn't it? They aren't there to inform us they are there to divide us and keep us from forming our own opinions based on all the information without first having to fear or hate this group or that group.

A half-informed and divided population is easier to rule over.

I'm actually pretty far right, just don't feel that I can trust TV news networks.

You don't have to be a liberal to be called a liberal here. All ya got do is appear to disagree with Bill O'Reilly and his Baptist Board liaison TND.

Nevermind TND agrees with the democrats and their anti - constitution anti - liberty authoritarian policies more than the people he calls liberals. That's just the newest form of neo - conservatism I guess. But on his behalf I will say that it's very difficult to tell where Bush's anti - constitution anti - liberty authoritarian policies left off and Obama's began. Two freedom hating tyrants, same anti - American policy.

    I see it like this:
The liberal news networks are biased in a liberal fashion.
The conservative news network is biased in a conservative fashion.

I'mma just go with third party news.

Or maybe the younger generation is just figuring out that the liberals and conservatives agree on trashing the constitution and turning America into an Orwellian police state instead of honoring their oath and working to restore the republic and our liberties.

Both parties are now in the business of serving big corporate interests instead of "we the people's" interest. You've seen the numbers. The "liberal news media" is in worse shape than Faux Snews even.

All combined the "liberal news media" has a few million viewers tops. The alternative media on the other hand is exploding right now. People no longer want spin and party talking points they want information they use.

Yep but they all agree we need to accept a corporate driven collectivist authoritarian government in place of our once great constitutional republic.

That's enough to get me to tune out.

    Life is LIKE a Pendulum.....

....the views and opinions of the general populace swing both ways! What was popular today will not be tomorrow, but will be again?!

Humans are a fickle bunch...sticking to one thing for life is a difficult task! Even people in churches have a hard time staying with one particular denomination, making churches transient in many ways!

The pendulum approach to society and culture is something that we should all become familiar with, and not allow swings in popularity to bother us too much!

In fact, if you were to pack away your clothes in moth balls when they are no longer the "fad" they will more than likely be back in the public eyes as fashion trends, trending today [again] twenty years later!

FOX has nothing to worry about...nothing at all!

Some of that would be why I'm not republican anymore, too. Independent parties for me.

On specific programs, Fox’s top rated show, The O’Reilly Factor, dropped by 26%. His primetime colleagues, Sean Hannity and Greta Van Susteren, similarly flopped by 28% and 35% respectively. That contrasts sharply with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show that increased 5%, the only program in its time period to rise.
    **************************************
I would rather see raw numbers.
If O'reily had 1,000 viewers and lost 26% he would still have 840
If Maddow had 100 and increased by 5% she would be up to 105 - which means O'reily had 800% more than Maddow.
