Every single time they pray to Mary they deny Christ...Read what Christ said and see for yourselves. You're argument is not with me, its with God and his Word.
Matthew 6:6
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
John 14:12-14
I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

ABG,
Have you ever prayed to Jesus? Have you ever prayed to the Holy Spirit?

DHK </font>
Thank you. So then when Jesus said to pray "to the Father," He wasn't saying that we also can't pray to God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.
So then then "Father" was not exclusive, and we are not limited to praying to "the Father." This is obviously something that is perfectly right, good, and holy, as it is the Father that answers our prayers. It is Jesus who takes thses petitions to the Father, and the Holy Spirit who exacts the results. But we can pray to each of the Persons that makes up our One God.
Therefore, these verses are not excluding prayer to others, especially when this prayer is merely intercessory prayer, that those who are perfect in Heaven will also pray to Jesus for us on our behalf.

GraceSaves,
Read carefully..
John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me . -
Not through Mary, through Christ! You can't take the long way or even a shortcut to God. The only possible way is through Christ!

ABG,
I have never once tried to access the Father through Mary. Not once. Nor is this anywhere or has it ever been taught by the Catholic Church. Mary carries our prayers to her Son, Jesus Christ, just as other Christians carry our prayers our brother, Jesus Christ.
Am I going to have to state that a bazillion more times before you listen to me?
God bless,
Grant -
We pray to the Father, through Jesus, the Son, and the Holy Spirit carries or interprets our prayers.
It is that simple, and there are no other mediators named in scripture.
Cheers,

ABG: Instead of taking a potshot agains the RCC, which seems to be what you'r extremely good at, why don't you just ask an honest question:
Are we biblically forbidden to ask those who have gone to be with the Lord to pray for us?
Is it wrong for me to stand over my Uncle's grave and tell him how much I miss him, and ask him to pray for things in my life, as I would ask him if here were still here? Is it wrong for a widow to tell his/her deceased spouse "I love you and I miss you, and look forward to seeing you again. You're with Jesus now. Please pray for me here on earth". -
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me .
This verse is about salvation, not about prayer. -
You are a smart fellow, and I know that you know that an intercessor is not the same thing as a mediator. Even if you are looking at the term "mediatrix" and scratching your head or shaking a finger at me, please note that "mediatrix" and "mediator" are not the same words precisely because they carry different meanings.

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mat 23:14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Act 8:20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.
Act 8:21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.
Act 8:22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.
Act 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
2Co 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
2Co 13:6 But I trust that ye shall know that we are not reprobates.
2Co 13:7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates.
2Co 13:8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.
Phi 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
Phi 1:4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
Phi 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Col 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Just to name a few. They Apostles all prayed to GOD.
Not Mary.
Not Dead Saints.
Not Statues representing dead Saints.
Not Beads.
Not with prayers written by other men.
Not Crosses.
They prayed to GOD.
Through the Holy Spirit, to Jesus who is our ONLY intercessor to the Father.
The HOLY SPIRIT is the one who makes intercession for us to Christ.
Not Mary.
God Bless. -
I better stop praying "to beads," then.
God bless,

Mediator and Mediatrix mean EXACTLY the same thing.
Mediatrix is the neuter form of Mediator. It is the feminine. Like Dominatrix vs. Dominator.
God Bless -
If you are praying to beads, it is idolatry.

God Bless </font>
...Are you saying you actually think I, or any other Catholic, prays to beads? If so, I kindly as you to rethink your whole outlook on Catholicism, because you're not on the same boat. No one, who is at all aware of the faith that has been entrusted to them, prays TO BEADS.

God Bless </font>
And you are telling me that when we refer to Mary as "mediatrix" (of peace, of grace, etc), that this means exactly the same thing as Christ being mediator between man and God the Father?

If you truly believe the things you are saying, then I am extremely disappointed that you are fighting against a representation of the RCC that only exists in your mind. If you don't truly believe the things you are saying but are just trying to be antagonistic for some reason, I again am disappointed that you are not being honest with us or yourself. Either way, your posts are very concerning to me, and as a fellow Baptist I am now cringing everytime I see you start a new thread here. :( In my opinion, you are hurting your cause more than you are helping it. -
If the Holy Spirit lives within us and makes intercession for us why do you ask Mary to intercede for you?
1 Corinthians 3:16
Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?
Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Rom 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
Would any of you dare deny God's gift of the Holy Spirit to beleivers choosing instead to have a dead person intercede for you? The Bible warns against this!!!
Isaiah 19:3
The Egyptians will lose heart, and I will bring their plans to nothing; they will consult the idols and the spirits of the dead, the mediums and the spiritists. -
