James was addressing "races", not cities. The cities are only different because of the "races", but you're the one who brought in cities, to apparently highlight some difference in the "races".

They're a subgroup considered "white" ("Caucasian").
    What does that mean?
What "blacks"? What are you referring to, regarding "south Africans"? Something that happened over there? Most "Black" events I've seen in this country don't exclude anyone. You may be able to find some event somewhere (likely on those conservative news sites always trying to dig up stuff to throw charges of racism back at others) where they excluded whites, but again, "blacks" is made into this single monolithic entity (often like it's a single person; [i.e. they all think feel and do the same things, and can be made responsible for what all others do] let alone group), and that's why things have become divided that way, unfortunately.
And just what I was saying is that they DO, and no one is criticizing or even questioning this.

Yes, thank you, Captain Obvious. That's why I contrasted a black city with a white city.

    I agree.

Apparently not obvious, to you. You switched the parameter the poster was addressing. Bro. James said there was no difference between races, except for skin pigment. You're saying there are differences, because look at their cities.

So I asked whether you were taking that to be some sort of fundamental difference (like skin pigment is).

Are you suggesting that the idea of them having any accomplishments is in question?

Sorry my disagreement confused you so.

No. I absolutely agree that idea exists.

As I've said a couple of times before--If whites become a minority in America, so what? There's nothing wrong with being a minority since everyone has equal rights and are treated the same. Correct?

Good post, regardless of Zaac's ridicule.

I am a Norwegian, Welch, Fox Indian, Italian, American, born in Southeast Louisiana at the end of WWII. What color am I?

We seem to be having difficulty defining nationality, race and ethnicity. An interesting study: ethnic cleansing in terms of melanin levels. We have some seriously skewed notions regarding race; some use Bible verses to justify prejudicial behavior. What the U.S. of A has done to the Amerinds and Africans is at best reprehensible. We are still reaping the whirlwind.

"In Christ, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, bond nor free, male nor female...". Not everyone is: "in Christ".

Human nature is totally depraved: we thrive on love of money and respect of persons. Curiously, rich, educated non-whites are still not accepted 100%. Supremacy is an insidious part of human nature.

    Jesus paid for that too.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

No. And that's a problem. One that the posters here do not recognize, but is real nonetheless.

Not really .... I see a race of people that are a minority when you stack all the others up in one column. We may outnumber others, when comparing whites to every other race one-on-one, but SHOULD that exclude us from celebrating our heritage? After all, whites are made up fromthe French, Swedes, English, German's and Irish to name but a few. So what is wrong with having a Germanor French or even an Irish heritage night?

So in response to your comments, I think not!

Celebrations and revelry get folks into spiritual and physical adultery. cf: Israel and the golden calf. See also the beheading of John the Baptist at Herod's birthday party.

"Whether we eat or drink, whatsoever we do, do all for the glory of God"

We will all give an account. Many seem to not understand the concept of accountability. See I Cor. 3, the part about the wood, hay and stubble.

    Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Whites do celebrate their cultural heritage with respect to their bloodline origins. That was addressed in this very thread. Nobody has a problem with an Irish or German heritage night. We've already covered this.

I don't like hyphenated Americans, no matter what their bloodlines.

AFAIC, if you are hyphenated, you are not AMERICAN.
You can be an American with a Spanish , African, Indian, or whatever heritage, but you are simply an American.

Hyphenation, IMO, signifies division, certainly not unity.

    JMHO!

Oh, I'm not talking about hyphenated Americans. I'm just saying that celebrating ethnic heritage happens all the time for white people and it is generally not frowned upon. I was responding to RD2's rationale that these things were somehow taboo.

    AGREE 100%.
In fact, I refuse to use hyphenation.
Well, I did once -at a race relations class - I refered to myself as a Mutt-Americian - and the the "minorities" said they were offended.
