And neither have I. It took the higher ups nearly 13 years to get rid of me. By the second year the home church took me on as a missionary to the heathen and provided support for five years. I would rather offer words that needed a grain of salt than words that need a packet of Goody's Headache Powder.
We're trying to point out the balance that should be struck. The scriptures hold the greatest weight and value. Then you weight the value of the words of others against the scripture to see if their words be inspired by God. But, as you said, you don't want our advice...
Have fun watching the Hunger Games. I may call up some friends and try yo throw together an impromptu D&D session...
Don't forget the only women we see Jesus talking to are Samaritans, women caught in sinful Acts and Mary and Martha and His mother.
I guess I missed the part in the Great Commission that said go to Adults first.
Again we have Evan not realizing that people have different gifting.
There are some people who are great with kids and that is where their talents are and where God has called them.
Others are better with Adults.
Neither one is better or greater then the other.
I think that Evan needs to read 1 Cor 12 again about the Body of Christ. We can't all be hands, or eyes, etc.
Each one of us has a role to play and no one is better then the other.
In the first church I ever attended the pastor was a soul winner. During revivals or at the end of each sermon after he preached he would comb the church at the altar call searching for some young child he could bring to the altar and lead down the Romans road. His wife often testified she was lead to the Lord when she was three years old. What does a three or four year old child know about being under the burden of sin ? Cradle row converts is what you have and then later when the hormone's kick in there gone. Oh wait! the ones that do get saved later in life said they were backslid all those years. This same preacher on Sunday morning would send someone around to the Sunday school rooms and have everyone to turn in how many people they had led to the Lord that week or made contacts as he called it and then during church service make a big cudu about what a soul winning church he was pastoring.
Thanks for that post.
Sadly there are many preachers who do that sort of thing and you wind up with a congregation of unregenerate people.
I used to ask one of my lovely granddaughters what made her so pretty.
She would say: "Jesus up in the sky!" That would have been sufficient for some preachers to dunk her!
Was just reading. According to the book of Acts men, women, and then youth were evangelized in that order. So many churches these days have it backwards and put the children/youth in front of men/women.
Also no one can come to me unless the father first draws him (John 6:44). No one, I repeat no one can persuade a man of his sin, but only God himself and His holy Spirit. People whom try and call themselves soul winners and claim credit for bringing souls to salvation are self-deceived.
