One of the pastors just came to me and says he wants to teach on Church history for Wednesday night and if I know of any good books for laymen. I am no expert in this area so I thought I'd ask for input from others who know more than me, thanks..

Try a PDF version of "Trail of Blood" by J.M. Carroll. Have copies available for everyone. Also get copies of the chart which goes with the book.

I found a book by this author only 368 pages which is really geared for the college level but it was the shortest Church history book I could find as this topic is taught at the college level and few churches teach it in SS. -
