Hello Everyone,
First, I would hope some would take a deep breath and remember what forum you are on. I know emotions over such can get heated but the same can be said without personal attacks.
THE PROBLEM IS THIS!
A) The story covers the killing of an American soldier, from the
enemies perspective!! I heard the commentary and it was indeed pathetic, as seemed gleefully told by the CNN commentator. It was not done in such a manner as,
"please be for warned, this footage shows an American soldier, one or our boys...." etc etc. Not to mention they used footage as given them by our enemies. Something I don't believe would have ever occurred decades ago.
If you watch film footage, some very famous which we are all familiar with, of the "D-Day" landings and Normandy, you will see American soldiers go down. This is sad, but you understand the sacrifice they made for all of us. The story is told from our perspective with hopes of success etc. This CNN story is in
no way reminiscent to such as that.
B) It is just another example of how the liberal news, such as CNN, significantly portrays the war. They seldom ever speak of the good things which has been accomplished. In addition, there is little reporting of enemy setbacks or loses.
C) This film footage absolutely encourages more attacks on our Boys! There is no arguing this. Terrorists are simply as effective as they are, in these days, because of the constant and immediate news coverage they receive. They live for the footage and understand such will eventually wear down the American resolve. We would have never won WWI or WWII with such coverage as this. It is significantly why the Vietnam war turned out as it did.
To say this is newsworthy and thus why such should be reported is pathetically weak. Who doesn't know American soldiers are dying abroad or in any war? But to report such from the enemies perspective, with film footage as provided by the enemy, and as matter-of-fact,
is outrageous. It truly shows some networks/people care more about their reporting/ideology than necessarily Americans or America. Reporters used to trod the mud right along the
American Soldier in reporting the story. Now some choose to set up neutrally, report both sides equally, and at times thankfully use enemy footage!

Wow! Is that what you would call a good Christian example because it's not what I would!
Quote by Terry_Herrington: "..looks like Iraq was better off under Saddam than it is under Bush".
This is exactly the rhetoric as the extreme far left spew. What an outrageous statement irrespective of who the President is, be he Democrat or Republican. Maybe you meant to say it was more "stable" as a country? Because Saddam would kill anyone including their families who opposed him! Surely you don't think that was better?
A day is coming when people such as Saddam will be selling WMD's to anyone but especially our enemies! It has nothing to do with party affiliation or personality as shown under the Clinton Presidency. It came to the forefront under Bush with the killing of thousands of Americans and destruction of the Twin Towers. You should be praying Iraq turns out well for us and their people. As such would truly be a blessing for all involved and will prove
immeasurable for America!

LeBuick everyone appreciates your service but there is no reason to attack someone who did not actually serve. Especially when they seem very supportive. I could understand attacking someone who simply deplores the military but on the other hand rejoice in all the freedoms/benefits they have in America.
My family has a long history of service as indeed I was born on a base. When I was younger they asked me to choose a different road, which I did. But I/we have always been completely supportive for our Military and personnel. In addition, please show where Joseph or any citizen has sent other kid's to fight for him! Our men and women volunteer for service and go where they are told to go. They are heroes for such and I applaud them.:applause:
I will continue to support them and such professions as police/fire etc! I will continue to redicule such as CNN diplayed.
Take Care, Ralph
