How sweet.
I will certainly miss being on here as well.
I have learned alot.
My husband and I did discuss this.
We haven't misused the internet and it has been a wonderful tool for learning.
I think the message from the preacher came at a time where we knew we would have to make a decision.
Funny enough, he called the message "Come out from among them".
We do have a very good preacher and he sees the tv and web as a snare the devil uses to catch us, not always in immorality but it steals our time.
Just think of all the time spent on here, that we could be witnessing, or helping a widow or what have you.
I know my house would be alot cleaner if I didn't spend so much time on here!
:D
Ouch! "The Law made lousy Jews and worse Christian" ??? Paul said the Law is holy, just, and good. Romans 7:12. Sin made bad Jews bad, not the Law. The Law didn't make David commit murder and adultery, sin did. God is the source of the Law, it is mocking God to say there is something wrong with the Law. Legalism, adding non-biblical rules to the Law, that is bad, or trusting in Law to save, that is wrong. But never disgrace God by ridiculing His Law. The 10 Commandments are forever, even though we are free from ceremonial rules and practices.
Granny, with all due respect, what I "hear" you saying is that Walls and HCL have the truth and the rest of us are blinded.
What I, personally, see is that Walls, HCL and some others have a lifestyle based on their interpretation of one passage of scripture.
If that is what they believe and choose to follow, no one is "stopping" them.
If Walls is convicted to do away with her internet based on what her preacher said on Sunday, that is her prerogative to do so.
There are many people who have acted upon the same conviction.
That does not mean the rest of us are blinded to the truth of God's word.
And with Walls' "opus", she has yet another chance to share her opinion.

Legalism is NOT just "adding" rules to the Bible. It is trying to gain favor with God by doing the Law!
By the deeds of the Law NO FLESH shall be justified in His sight.
The Law was there to make us aware of how much we sin and how much we need redemption.
Jews then and Christians today try to "keep the Law".
They fail because of sin.
Trying to keep it always leads to failure.
Made lousy Jews trying to do it . . and we Christians today are no better.
(Think we agree on the subject, just worded differently!!
)
huummm.........
So internet is wrong, but they continue with it. Is that like 'God forgive my past sin of using the internet and my future sin of continuing to use the internet until March 1'
If it's wrong after march 1 it's wrong now. I wonder if the preacher said that.
Walls, I know that you are trying to follow the teachings of your pastor, but it appears to me that you would be giving up something that is important and educational to you and your family.
I hope that you consider this carefully and see that the internet can be of great value to you and your family.
The wealth of good information is amazing.
I think I would compare this to the person who does not eat because they might get fat.
One has to chose their food wisely to avoid being overweight.
The same goes with the use of the internet.
One must chose the sites wisely and avoid or filter out the bad.
This could bring up another subject.
As church members do we have to do everything that the pastor tells us to do?
What if we disagree with his teachings?
(I know this should be another thread)
