Instead I forgot the stupid green ribbon! It's what I get for running into the store 5 minutes before I'm supposed to pick up at school.

Don't tell your girls I've been giving you ideas.

Good morning all and thank you for the birthday wishes! :love2:

Brent's cake was good. I ate 3 pieces throughout the day!

We went thrift shop 'sailing' and got some good bargains and I grilled steak for supper.

I got phone calls from all the kids, (44, 43, 37, 35) and my brother (72), and my sister (76), and flowers from hubby, so it was a good day.

Today, I think I'll recuperate.

Hey Jim and She sorry I havn't been posting in here much. Seems as if I got myself involved in the debate forums:thumbs: Can you imagine that! Me?

Thanks for the welcome everyone!

Jan and I are leaving for Utah tomorrow and we'll be there for the Thankgiving week. This will be my first time seeing the new grandbaby who is now 11 months old. I think the funny look on Ash's face is from bad reception from her antennes:)

Good Morning Everyone!

I may actually catch up a little bit today! I'm sooo excited. The kids really helped out a lot yesterday afternoon, so I think I can get the biggest part of what is left in the house done today. Then tomorrow maybe I can work in the front yard some.

Ya'll have a good day, I'm going to go get at it cause the house is not the only thing on my list today!

Precious pictures, Rad!

Good late afternoon all. I finally made it. We had the piano tuner come out this morning and he left at 9:30 - just when Joanna was supposed to be at preschool. So I raced her over there, got to church and started my computer work. I not only have to do this week's service (pretty easy - DH is leading worship and I knew the graphics I wanted with each song - and the announcements were pretty much the same as last week with just 2 new ones) but then I had to do a funeral, Thanksgiving and NEXT Sunday!! With Thanksgiving, it throws off my whole week. I'm shot!! While I was doing that, I was homeschooling Robby (just phonics and math - bare necessities) and then when Jo got out of preschool, she was there too and needing to go to the potty every 3 seconds, or so it seemed. Bleck!! Now I'm relaxing with a cup of tea and I'm supposed to make Penne a la Vodka for dinner but it just may end up as spaghetti and jarred sauce. :( After that, it's our small group meeting at our friend's house and we need to pick up the oldest from youth group by 10:30. My 14 year old is going to be out at an all-nighter with Youth For Christ, so no need to get her too.

So, I hope you all had a great day. I'm going to do some more surfing and see if I can't squeeze in a nap too (it's now 4 PM). See ya later!! :wavey:

OK "I am Blessed 16". Where's the rules on what size the pics have to be to be posted? Haven't found them.

Welcome to the Coffee House Rad! Scroll down to the bottom of any page and you will find the link to the posting rules. :type:

Here is the one about images:
12. Limit image size. Any image used in a post may not exceed the size of the BB logo at the top of the homepage.

Good morning all,

Dale is hanging the icicle lights on the eaves of the house. I won't light them up until after Thanksgiving though. Hopefully the lighted nativity scene will get put outside today also. I LOVE Christmas lights!

Brent and I started our Christmas baking yesterday. We made Molasses Sugar Cookies and Banana Oatmeal Cookies (3 batches of each).

I left some samples on the counter, so help yourself.

We are making Apple Butter Cookies and Pumpkin Cookies today. The sugar cookies and candies will probably get made next week.

Time to put on the coffee,

Sure, Sheila! I will type the Apple Butter a little later - I'm still baking...

(This is a favorite of ours for Thanksgiving and Christmas both.)

PUMPKIN COOKIES

1/2 cup oleo (may use butter)
1½ cups sugar (do NOT use Splenda)
1 egg
1 cup pumpkin
1 tsp. vanilla
2½ cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ cup diced almonds
1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Cream oleo and sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in egg, pumpkin and vanilla.

Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg and cinnamon together and mix. Add to the creamed mixture and mix well.

Add almonds and chocolate chips, mix thoroughly.

Drop by tsps. onto well-greased cookie sheets.

Bake @ 350º for 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove from cookie sheets while warm and cool on racks.

YIELD: 6 dozen cookies

Hi all ! The cookie recipe you posted, Sue, what can be substituted for pumpkin, if anything? David is not sure he likes it, and I don`t know if I can get any.

Sweet potato can usually be substituted for pumpkin.

Howdy everyone!

Watching Auburn play Alabama after blowing a billion leaves off my front yard. It's been a good way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Oh, and my outside Christmas lights are up!

Ya'll have a good day!
