I'll try again. Here's a pic of my "little girl" (now a graduating senior) with her beau before the prom.

Beautiful picture, but I had to edit it for its extreme size. According to BB protocol the picture should not be much larger than the BaptistBoard.com logo on top of the page. :)

Now, If I were about 65 years younger, she just might be my cup of tea.....

Congratulations to her and blessings.

Cheers,

Oh she is beautiful!

And yes, fathers should take their daughters to buy those dresses.
My husband did with my daughter. It was such a special time for both of them.

A good thing about daddy going to buy the dress with daughter is that he can veto it right away. LOL Daddy has different viewpoint than even mommy has and I think it's an important viewpoint. ;)

So we folded in our home. We've not had any video game system other than me buying the Atari Flashback 2 years ago (it's like the old Atari from the 70s with Asteriods, Combat and Pong), but last night, we bought a Wii. DH had been thinking of getting one because it's more active (DS broke a sweat today playing) and it's not all shoot-em-up games. He was so happy to get it set up this morning and the kids had a hard time starting school. LOL I think DH and I will get the Wii Fit for ourselves since we both really need to get going on getting in shape.

So we've joined the other side. ;)

Good Afternoon Everybody,

I agree 100% about the Father going with the Daughter to choose the Prom dress. I did with my Daughter [years ago] and we had a lot of fun doing it.

It's a wonderful day, No snow in the forecast. LOL!! We shouldn't be seeing any more of that filthy white stuff untill late this fall, hopefully.

We've been busy getting the garden put in, and working on the RV to get it ready for the season.

Everybody is reasonably healthy, right now [as of 12:50pm, that is.]

Anybody seen my Cuz around here any place?

My break is over and it's now time to get back to work. Will stop in again when I can.

Good Evening Everyone!

Hey Cuz, I'm still among the living.

We are all running around doing last days of school type stuff. Only 8 more days for Jen and 9 for Cass. Chris is done early and I will putting together his report card in the next few days and getting it sent off to his church school, while at the same time getting his things together to re-enroll him in public school. Jen will homeschool for the next 3 years (through middle school). I am already tired of hormonal kid drama and have often wondered if she and I would survive 5th grade. (now less than two weeks before school is out, the admin suspended the two kids who have caused her the worst problems. can anyone say "early summer vacation"?)

We are also doing the stomach virus pass around. We've done two different versions of it in the last two weeks. Each version came from a different place. Maybe one of these days my folks' stomachs will toughen up.

After looking at everyone's pics, I have decided. We have some REALLY beautiful children here at the BB!

Ya'll have a good evening. I'll check back in as life allows.

Not much going on here---just gardening and goat tending. The goats are old enough to leave and I have homes for them, but things keep coming up and the new owners keep changing plans. I'll miss them but I think I'll also be glad when they're gone. They are a dinamic duo, destroying everything in their path. LOL!

I met a teenage girl yesterday who told me about her legalist church (as in, no coffee, chocolate, etc----also no crossing the legs at the knee) and I was able to tell her about the unconditional love of Christ. I hope she keeps coming to our church!

Better run. I have a lot to do before church today. Have a good day, everyone!

AAaaaaaCCCHHHooooooo!

Sorry folks, these allergies are killing me and the zyrtec hasn't kicked in yet this morning.

In between sneezes and handwashings, I put out some hot fresh croissants and some homemade jam. We have fig preserves, wild plum jelly, and peach and blueberry jams. The coffee is hot and the juice is cold. Ya'll enjoy.

We have 4 days left of school for Jenna and Cade, 5 days for Cass, but before you go feeling sorry for her, you should know that her last two days she'll only have to go in for a couple of hours. Just long enough to take her final exams. Homeschooled Chris finished his year on the 15th. If I can get in 180 days between August and Memorial Day, why can't the public school?

Today is the 5th grade Talent Show. Jenna is going to perform a karate free form and break wood. Jenna is the only kid in her grade that does karate out of about 75 kids. I was a little surprised to find that out as our town supports 2 or 3 different martial arts studios. Oh well it is sure to be a good time.

Later on today Chris has a guitar lesson and I'll get to sit and chat with a friend of mine for a while.

I guess I better go. Cade is dragging his feet this morning cause he doesn't want to go to school. He'd much rather stay here with Chris! Poor fella. Next year they'll get to suffer together!

Ya'll have a good day!

Good Afternoon Everybody,

It is 82 degrees here and sunny. The forecast for the holiday weekend is perfect. Hot and sunny each day. This is the weather we pray for in January.

We've been staying busy by putting in the garden, and getting the RV read for another season. We normally camp over Memorial Day but this year we decided to stay home and take it easy. We'll have family dropping over and cookouts each day, then we'll just kick back and relax.

I hear you about the allergies Cuz! My Grandkids are all suffering this year. Thank God for Zyrtec and Claritin!

Time to get the grill ready for tonight. We're having Burgers and Brats tonight.

Hoping everybody has a safe and happy Memorial Day.

Good Morning Everyone!

Summer has begun! Only a couple of report cards remain to be picked up, tomorrow, and we need to pick up summer work packs for Chris and do the paper work that enrolls him in high school and things around here will settle down for just a little while. The enrollment stuff will wait until next week when we have an appointment with a counselor. We have a few docs appointments that we need to take care of, those are all next week too. Bu life will slow down dramatically after that. PTL! I need a slowdown!

Today, right at this minute, I am enjoying the silence of all my children being out of the house! :D It's great! I'm sure there is something I should be doing, but I don't quite know what it might be as I've made appointments and such already. Wait! I know! This is what relaxing feels like! I'd almost forgotten.

In the spirit of relaxing, I have ordered out Chinese food and pizza and tossed the boxes on the counter. There are cookies and snack cakes, chips and dip and fresh ice tea and lemonade as well.

Ya'll enjoy!

Hum, where is everybody?! It must be an early vacation season. Oh well, eventually they will all come back. How could they resist the free coffee and all you can eat at this place. Have a great day all, and be sure you don't get a sunburn! :type:

Good Afternoon Everybody,

This place sure is quiet and full of echoes when nobody's been here. Nice of Sister Sue to keep the larder stocked and the place clean.

I've been offline for a few days due to computer problems, and just got back online today.

Yesterday was the 23rd anniversary of Brenda and my first date, so I surprised her with 23 yellow roses, and a trip to South Haven MI for a relaxing day on the shore of Lake Michigan. We browsed thru the shops, had lunch, walked out the pier, then relaxed on the beach. We finished the day with dinner at an out of the way restaurant then took our time during the 2-hour drive home. A nice, lazy, day full of memories.

Not much has been going on here, just the same old routine.

I brought in Mashed Potato Chicken Rollups, Chicken Shepherd's Pie, Cheddar Biscuits, and Cinnamon Apple Crumb Pie for anybody who's hungry. Enjoy.

I'll try to get back in here more as time allows.

I guess it's been ages since I stopped by. Hope you all are doing well.

Let me give a quick update:

Gave the goat babies away
Kids are out of school for the summer
Got a bike and have been riding like crazy (lost a few lbs too)
Started canning season----cherry jam/jelly!!!
Made the first cherry pie of the season. Delish!
Got our major van repairs done. PTL!
Made goat milk pudding yesterday. Fabo!
REALLY need a vacation. LOL!

That's pretty much it. I've got pineapple upside down cake (with wheat flour) on the table. Dig in! :)

It's so hot today! I'm avoiding all outside work and sitting here eating some chocolate ice cream. Dh is at the monthly Pastors' meeting. Later we'll all go to the church in our village. In the evening I'll do more weeding in the garden and milk the goat.

Tomorrow we plan on picking more cherries.
