The only "RULE" here is NO fussin' - NO fightin' - NO feudin'!

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, donuts, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies, homemade cakes, homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with/without caffeine), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemonade and orange juice, cappuccino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Coke Zero, Pepsi, Sprite, milk, milkshakes, Kool-Aid, and Carb Options.

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often!

As Christians, we are ALL on common ground...

It is now 1:30a.m., Saturday, and it is 14ºF. That is warmer than it's been for four days! Let's see, if I'm correct, that would be somewhere around -14ºC. Am I close at all? LOL

I took my nap too late this afternoon and now I can't get to sleep. I'm gonna try again though.

    See you in the morning!

    Pleasant dreams all!

Morning everyone! I love the new digs - nice fresh and the fireplace in the corner is DEFINITELY a plus with this weather!! There's french toast casserole, fresh fruit and cinnamon rolls available with plenty of hot fresh coffee. Come in and warm up a spell!

As with everyone else, it's cold here. It was 8 F when I woke up and the kitchen was 59 degrees so i have a pot of water on the stove boiling away to add some humidity to the house and hopefully warm it up. The kitchen is now 64 so it's working. :) I ran out early to drop off DD at work then came home and used some of that boiling water to make a nice hot cup of tea. I then loaded the dishwasher and got that going so now it's time to relax.

DH ran off to worship team rehearsal and the funny thing is that it's not his team! We have 3 worship teams and the leader of the one that is supposed to lead worship tomorrow is home with a fever so he called this morning seeing if DH can lead worship for him. So off he went to see how he works with this team. He should do fine. He knows the songs and he had a bit of a head's up yesterday when I found out that Lou was sick so he was thinking things through already. Our prayer is always that the worship team is just a tool to help people enter the presence of God in worship - not that they perform well. :)

Today should be quiet. There's nothing much going on other than playing taxi service to the girls but the house is a cluttered mess which needs to get cleaned up so that's my goal. We took down the Christmas stuff right after New Year's but the boxes are still sitting in the hallway waiting for the girls to put it away and I'm going to make sure that is finished today. I need my house back!! Especially since I'm home in it all day!!

Have a wonderful, warm day everyone!

I appreciate the woodstove. My feet are freezin'!

Dh picked me up last night to take me to see our house. He has worked for a few months in it and it's finally ready for us to move back in. I'm so proud of his work. I appreciate all the time and effort he put into this house for me. I'm quite excited!

I went back to the house this morning to do some clean-up. I moved appliances (no furniture, yet) and tried to sweep up the construction dust. I plan on doing more cleaning there on Monday, moving our wood pile down there on Tuesday, and then moving us and our belongings there on Wednesday and Thursday. After that I'll clean up our friends' home in preparation for their arrival on Sunday. It will be a busy week!!!

My tooth is so much better! The pain isn't gone completely, but I can eat now. Would you believe that I actually gained weight through all of that? I'm an odd duck, I tell ya!

Stay warm and enjoy your weekend, everyone! There is a kettle of mint tea on the woodstove and fresh bread in the oven (my woodstove has an oven).

My apologies Gina. How did I delete your post? Were you posting at the same exact time as I did and it somehow was cancelled out? I would not delete your post, unless you were using "ferboten" words.... which I do not think you would ever do. By the way, you really live close to the "North Pole" where Santa lives? I was looking at the link you provided of that white wilderness.

Menageriekeeper, it is quite alright. I know you did not intentionally posted the oversized picture.... even though it is a beautiful dog. It has such an intelligent look - almost as if to say, "Hey, here is looking at you!" :)

Lady Sue, be sure you take care of yourself and get rid of that cold. Even though the temp is above the " - " mark, stay inside. And that was not a suggestion, that was an order from Dr. Halo. :flower:

We are doing well. Today we'll celebrate the 40th birthday of our son-in-law, Alan, and I was commissioned to get the birthday cake... So, I'll be off and getting busy. Have a good weekend all! :type:

It's not THE north pole, the name of the town is North Pole, and it is officially the home of Santa Clause. I'm assuming you're talking about the CNN link to the story and pics I did? If so, you saw Santa's house and one of his reindeer! They have them in the backyard. Those are some cool looking animals!

Today we are going to be watching the Veggie Tales movie "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything." I love that my kids are still into Veggie Tales, it gives me a good excuse to watch them. LOL! We spent about a week a few months ago vegging out on everything they've ever made!

Looks like I might not have church in the morning. It is already starting to snow. It wasn't supposed to snow until later tomorrow.

It must be Gina's fault with all that mild weather in Alaska.

Cheers to all, Might bug you in the morning,

    Jim

    Good Morning!

I don't think you want what I ate for breakfast---orange juice and a cucumber. I wanted a pickle, but the OJ mix didn't sound good.

It's SOOO cold here! I hate to, but I have to get to town before church. I hate grocery shopping in the cold and on Sundays, but with dh's schedule, I take the van when I can get it.

Better run. See y'all tomorrow. Have a nice Lord's Day!

Hey! We're getting snow too!! It's beautiful but enough that I need to drive DD to church rather than letting her drive. She's still a new driver and I don't want her to learn how to skid and crash just yet. ;) She teaches Sunday School for the second service so she attends the first service (a rule at our church - you work one service and can't attend? You attend the other.) After church, we'll just be home and playing taxi service to the two girls who will be working at the grocery store today. I have a request to make meatloaf so I'll do that today. Maybe I'll make my fancy one since I'll be at the grocery and have time. Hmmm......

    Good morning all,
No snow here! Trust me that is a good thing- the mini school bus that I drive doesn't doesn't go anywhere when it snows! I am stuck driving my parents old van and it doesn't like the snow. It is 46 here and supposed to get into the lower 60's before the day is over. I brought in breakfast and some warm weather wishes for all of you who still have the freezer door open outside! Stay warm and enjoy the homemade rolls and fresh fruit. Have a blessed day!

    Good morning all!

Thanks for the rolls and fruit, IslandGirl! I'm not really up to cooking yet.

Yes, sir, Dr. Halo! You won't have to tell me again. I may be inside until spring! LOL

It HAS warmed up though. It is 21º above zero. Almost warm enough to go swimming....NOT!

I've watched my 5 favorite preachers on TV this morning. I sure miss going to church, but it's too dangerous for me to get out in the cold. I pretty much hibernate in the winter...doctor's orders (my real doctor, not Dr. Halo, although they both told me the same thing!).

DH won't even let me do my paper route in the winter. I do it in the spring, summer, and fall, but once winter hits, he confines me to the house. He insists I still owe him 50 more years of marriage. LOL

    Stay safe and warm,

I tasted Baklava for my first time today. I didn't praticularly enjoy it and now find myself wondering if it was made right because I can't imagine that being famous!

Gina, you are now off the hook. It was over 50 degrees here today! Much better! :D

They say it's not going to stay that way long though, so enjoy being out of trouble while it lasts!

Whew! It's quickly dropping here, gonna be zero tonight I think, then by next week way down in the negatives again.

I did get out and take a walk while it was warm and got this pic! I think I figured out how to host it on image shack, then put the thumbnail here. Let's see:

I'm 5 minutes late for homeschool because I just don't want to do it. LOL! I'll be there in a minute.

Our temps are expected to rise to nearly 50 this week. I wonder if that will make any of the trees come out of hibernation mode. I hope not. I hope for a good fruit crop this year!

I was planning on cleaning at our house today, but as plans are wont to do, they changed. I'll do that tomorrow, which I don't mind, except it puts me a day behind. That stuff aggravates me. You'd think I'd be better at rolling with the punches, but sometimes I'm just not. Oh well...

Better go before the kids coming looking for me. Have a good day, everyone!

    Good morning all!

Spinach: What does Baklava taste like? Sweet, sour, tart, spicy? I have often seen it made up in the deli and thought I would like to taste it, but I never have 'cause it's so expensive.

You're back on the hook, Gina! It is 5º this morning! I will not gripe about Global Warming ever again. Now, I'm gonna complain about Global Whining. :)

Making biscuits and gravy for breakfast. I have plenty, so I left them on the warmer on the lunch counter. Enjoy!

This was sweet, but tasteless. Just tasted like mushy bread in sugar water.

I'd like to try it made professionally. I may have a different opinion.

So sorry! But now you can go ICE FISHING!

I was watching this weather guy in some other state where it's about 18 degrees below zero. He was blowing bubbles and it was really neat! When it's that cold they stay bubbles for a long time, or you can shatter them. I'm buying bubbles the next time I go out! That seems like fun.

He also threw a cup of water into the air and it turned to powder. Since it gets much colder here I'm gonna have to try it! I was told that it looks really cool to toss a pot of hot coffee out a window if you're on the second floor of a place, so now I'm gonna have to try that too!

Gina! You can't waste coffee like that! There are far better things to do with coffee, you know, like drinking it!

It is supposed to get cold here again too for the next couple of days. Right now it is around 25 out there. But it is only for the next couple of days and then we'll be back to our usually mild temps of 40-50's. I am just about ready for spring though!

Pretty much sitting around this morning for a few more minutes. The kids are all out of school and I'm letting them sleep while we don't have any extras in the house. Then I'm going to sew while they clean up their bedrooms. There's laundry to be done too, but I expect even more of that once they clean out those bedrooms! I had four loads just out of the main bath. I might never get it all done!

Thanks for the bisquits and gravy Sue. It hit the spot!

Hey Spinach, don't you know that homeschool means you don't have to start every single day at the same time? :D

Ugg, speaking of homeschool, I forgot to send Chris' biology book to work with T and I needed some copies made. :( I sure hope the family life center will be open this evening!

Oh well, ya'll have a good day!
