Abiyah, the cut fruit sounds delicious. It is one of our favourite deserts and we love pink grapefruit.

Sue, it has been cool, but bright and breezy here today. A lovely autumnal day here too.

Just got in from Church. A lovely service. The four Baptist Churches in our area get together in turns throughout the year to hold services and so we went to the "local" this evening. A lovely service.

Be back later,

Blessings
Sheila

It was cool and rained here earlier, but a full sun is out now, just in time to flash upon my screen and block my view,,,What are you saying? I can't see...oh, there you are, yes, lovely day.

Remember, Dr. Bob is away fishing to-day; Barnabas is having a holiday overseas; I need a holiday overseas too...I am waiting for Sheila's cheque to cover travel and exorbitant meal structure....a pork pie.....

Cheers,

Jim

Despite that this is Sunday, and normaly quieter, I have noticed a great decline upon this forum. There must be some reason for the absence. I noticed even this morniing, people who normally post here and at least say hello, went to other sites and have yet to make an appearance here.

Something has happened, but I can't put a finger on it. Did someone burn the morning cakes and donuts? We need a visitation crusade, a recruitment drive, a rejuvenation of desires.

Cheers,

Jim

OK, this is the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. Do you know its origin?

We all know the stories about the Mayflower and the Pilgrims, both myth and fact, but how much do we know about Canadian Thanksgiving.

It goes back, forty-three years before the Mayflower, to 1578, when some English sailors crossed the North Atlantic, and had a tough go of it. When they landed in Frobisher Bay, they knelt down on a desolate shore some 5000 kms from home. Their meal was salt beef, biscuits and peas....some Thanksgiving dinner.

Now you know a little about this Thanksgiving.

Cheers,

Jim

I have the perfect recipe right from the source, and plans to bake some this winter. I gave the local shop a list of ingredients so they will have them ready for me when the snow falls.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim,
I've been meaning to tell you... it's your deoderant.... LOLOLOLOL

Honestly, I got sidetracked today. Checked in and some stuff had to be addressed in the moderator forum and then I realized the picture I had chosen for my 4 year olds to color didn't match the Sunday School lesson on a level for their age.

I've been reading through pretty quickly but this past week was tough! Spent one day at the doctor with Nick. One day at the dentist. THEN... the Christian fellow who had to let hubby go two years ago due to a decline in business called and asked him to come back part time so we had a lovely luncheon at their home on the other side of Atlanta on Friday! Squeeze in home schooling and preping for our son and his family to arrive by air at 7:35 Monday a.m. and there's not enough time in the day!

Sorry kiddo!

Oh, Barnabas is in Hungary. C.J. doesn't post on Sunday's usually. Blackbird and Dan are thumping their Bibles and will check in tonight. Sue and I are cheering for the Cubs as I type.... etc.

Sure, sure,, appease now, but I tell you it won't work....deodorant, is it. I never touch the stuff. I do bathe once every week with regularity.

I am going to get down to Dan's place some day...It is only a five hour drive off! I coulod do that blindfolded, with wife at the wheel.

Cheers,

Jim

Sheila, to tell the truth, none! But I like it and I am prepared to pay the price. My cholestrol is in perfect shape and in fact is better than my doctor's.so, I can afford a little extravagance.

Cheers,

Jim

PS. If given the chance, I would eat them so much I would look like a Yorkshireman.

Yes, I know you are a generous soul. Relatives have said same thing. In fact, we had one relative over here and they were supposed to fetch one,,,guess wot? It was confiscated at customs.

Cheers,

Next Sunday, we are going to visit a C&MA Church about a 30 minute drive from us. I know the minister and many of the people. We are tired of not having an evening service here.

Cheers,

Jim

Jim: Is you weekly bathing on Saturday night, by chance? Whether you need it or not? :D

LOL, Jim and Sue, you both make me laugh.

OK, something really funny for you to figure out. I have just wrapped Rob's pressie and written out his card. Now I can't find the envelope for the card. I was sat at my desk, so it can't have gone far. I was sure I had an envelope but now I can't be sure. I know I am a tad forgetful, but this is silly. And no, it isn't in the wastepaper bin, or on the floor. Hmm, directions please to the BB Funny Farm

A Totally Confused Sheila

Take a little cellophane tape and make a sticky on both sides, then stick the card to the present and Bob's you uncle...Nice to be different, tell 'im, cos 'e is special. When all else fails,,,improvise.

Cheers,

Jim

Or tell him it is in the post!
