    Well good morning all -

Just read all seven pages of #16 - some interesting stuff.

Diane - do you really think 60 is middle-age? From a mathematical view point - I would have to disagree with you. Currently I am 54 - and I do not expect to live to be 108. If I last as long as my dad did - I was middle aged when I was 39 1/2!!!

This "Brat" is somewhat of a jack of most trades!! Won't climb on the roof - and won't work on the cast iron part of the sewer system - but I wire - plumb - do carpentry, etc. Takes me at least twice as long to do the work as a professional - but I charge myself way less than a professional would to do the work.

Painted some more on the shed yesterday - went to the dentist in the afternoon to get teeth cleaned - then went out to dinner - usually happens that way - get teeth cleaned - get them dirty eating - 20 minutes later!!!

Daughter Kari - will be having surgery around Thanksgiving. She has had an ongoing battle with ovarian cysts since she was 18 (30 now). The Lord was good to them and gave them two beautiful children - we often wondered if she would ever be able to have children - after three miscarriages we wondered if she would be able to carry a child to term - but as I said - God is good. Libby and Ryan, Jr. are beautiful children - and loved.

Sue - I wonder how many posts I could have made out of this one?

Dan - the thankful - semi-jack of all trades - "BRATZ"

    PS - to Jim!!!

Don't let it bother you none about what them women think of your bathing habits.

If-in they had to break the ice off the pond for 6 months outta every 12 - they wouldn't bath as much as you do!!! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Are them lemon pies made without sugar? My momma makes me one every so often - cause they're my favorite!!

    PPS - to Jim!

Just how old is your mother-in-law anyway. Knowing how old you are - unless you robbed the cradle - she must be nigh onto 100?

    PS to Sue -

I seem to be gettin more posts out of this stuff than I thought I would!!

So you got Columbas Day off - well so did I. At about 10:30 AM - I said something to Jan - she said - why aren't you in work - I said - cause it's a holiday - she said - why didn't you tell me!!

Out of the 34 Columbus Day holidays we've observed since I've worked for the DOT - I've probably had about 30 of them off - seems like she'd remember that.

You know it's kinda like when I told her when we got married that I loved her - if anything changed - I'd let her know - so far nothings changed - but some folk just need to be reminded!!! ;)

Has anyone seen Gib or Blackbird this morning? We usually hear from them by now?

Kelly called me last night about 11 PM - asked me what I was doing in March (problem is - most times I don't know what I doing right now - let alone March)!

He wants to go to a conference at John MacArthur's church - That would probably be a worthwhile thing to do!!!

To all you cooks (chefs/bakers) who leave stuff here for us to eat!!

I had my usual for breakfast - 1/2 cup raison bran, 1/2 cup shredded wheat (or cherrios), 1/2 cup of 1% milk, 2 packets of blue sugar substitute (the pink stuff leaves a bad aftertaste) and 1/2 cup 1% cottage cheese. Now I eat them all in the same bowl - what do you all think about that?

    Good Morning Dan!

It was good to see your post (x10). You'd better watch it! When Mama ain't happy....ain't nobody happy! [IMG]

I really, really don't want to go out in this rain today with my cold, but I am too frugal to pay an alternate.

I will just don my raincoat and take my umbrella and pray I don't get sicker. I just don't want this cold to turn into another Bronchitis attack! Then I will HAVE to take off work!

Anyone watch "IMUS in the Morning" on MSNBC? I stumbled onto it a couple of days ago and haven't got him figured out yet!

According to the Surgeon General, Americans bathe too often, washing away the useful bacteria, and leaving themselves susceptible to disease.

Hence, the european pattern of a weekly bath, with daily washings is the best route to take.

How old is mother-in-law? Let me say this, she has a certificate from the Prime Minister on 75 years married, and that was given a few years ago.

Mary is younger than am I. I needed someone able to look after me in my senior years. No good getting someone as crippled up as I coud be and have to work for two. This way, she is still young enough to do everything, split the wood, carry it in, remove the ashes and shovel snow,,,otherwise, fit for a Canadian winter.

    Cheers,

    Jim......oh, oh, Hello too!

Load of wood is here....now, where is that younger woman when she is needed? Oh right, she is off to one of her day jobs.......oh well, guess I'll have to let the driver do it.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Dan,
Yeah Dan! At almost 53 I sure HOPE so!

Dr. Bob, Thanks for the resend! My guys were laughing so hard today!

Sue! Please take good care of yourself! Go to the doctor the minute this feels different! We don't want you getting that sick again!

Jim1999, I'm not much of a pie eater but I'd drop by for a cup of tea and some conversation by your fire any day!

Sheila, How's school going? Did Rob have a lovely birthday?

Gina, You should resign up with www.grifnet.com I enjoy laughter and there's always something to share!

Mark! I think you mentioned working out of your home. Do you have 'flex time'? That's another reason I love home schooling! We take off the first lovely days of any season. Enjoy the beach!

Okay, need to hop in the shower before someone else does! Baby Jack takes a short nap every morning about this time. This is my window of opportunity!

    Hello Everyone,

WOW, a lot of chatting this morning.

Dan: no, I haven't found the envelope...yet [IMG]

Sue: I am sorry to read that you are poorly, I hope you feel better soon. Try stirring a spoon of honey and a tablespoon of White Wine Cider Vinegar into hot water and sip.

Diane: University is great. A lot of hard work/ Rob was with me in the Genesis lecure this morning. I have just bought the Beasley-Murray Commentary on John.

Rob said he had a good birthday thank you. He takes the view that at "his age" a birthday is just another day. He will get teased a bit I think, him being 60 and I am still in my 40's  [IMG]

Just thought I would look in while I eat lunch. Cheese sandwich and leftover chocolate torte (birthday cake) :D

    Blessings

    Sheila [IMG]

Does middle age adjust according to one's age?

Once one reaches a certain age, he is allowed to start a second childhood, and even be a little foolish by times. It must be true cos sometimes wife calls me an old fool, and she has made wise choices over the years.

All I can say is enjoy every year, make the best of it and don't fret about it.

    Cheers,

    Jim
