Boy Howdy from balmy Casper (+38F and climbing toward 50F this afternoon). Bright morning sun has now (9:45 am) given way to some clouds so don't go singing "Home on the Range" quite yet.
I have my last (hopefully) chiropractic appt in an hour, but the back is feeling tons better. Still tender and baby it, especially getting in and out of the car.
But up most of the night in some of the worse pain of my life with my foot. You want an organ recital? My neuropathy is destroying my feet and send pain signals to the brain when there IS NO pain.
So the joint of my big toe - deep in the bone - felt like it was being broken, like someone snapping a pencil. It woke me, screaming in pain, 20+ times. Wife is tired today, as she was sitting in the rocking chair, dozing, waiting for me to awake again every 10-15 minutes.
We have some pain gel, etc, but the doctors say not even morphine will help. I finally got up and walked around in the dark and tucked HER in bed about 5 am and have not had a spasm since.
May have brought it on myself as I am breaking in a new pair of Birkenstocks and since I don't feel discomfort, can wear them hours at a time (instead of only an hour or two a day for the first few weeks). Will not wear them at all today and see if the biting pain subsides.
No sympathy needed, just an update on the exciting progression of a disease. Ugh.
