Praying for you, Renmar. I have a fifteen year old granddaughter who is a diabetic. She just received an insulin pump. She was so excited to be approved for one.

They have the best success with children on insulin pumps than on adult onset folks. I will say, it is easier to control insulin fluctuations when on the needle. Diabetes remains a daily challenge one way or another.
Cheers,

I agree. Taking a few units when my sugar is too high before lunch beats having to run around the block a few times!
-
But the best thing would be to not let your sugar to high to start with! (He said - as he lives in a perfect world!)

Well I just ate half a dish of gum drops so I guess I should have some energy! Washed them down with Pepsi. LOL I'm such a bad girl!
I'm mentally planning a 'yard sale' but gotta get into the closets and drawers! My problem is I hate stacks and piles and where oh where am I supposed to keep the things I choose for the yard sale without having a pile somewhere? I think about just putting things on top of the air hockey table in the rec room downstairs as I find them but that just bugs me so much~~~
What do the rest of you do? Also, I'm thinking of having a 3 day yard sale. Probably Thursday through Saturday. Never done that before! Our driveway is steep and we have many obese people in this area. They won't or can't walk up my driveway but I hate to take all the things and put them down by the street when I have such a large garage in case of rain, etc!
Suggestions?

Dan - That is always true.
But then there is that phenomenon where I can get up this morning, have the number be OK, eat my usual breakfast, and have a pre-lunch number be great, say 110. Then tomorrow do EXACTLY the same thing, under the same conditions, and that pre-lunch number will be 230!
Go figure! But at least with insulin I can fix that. -

Sell it on eBay! -
Diane, rent a booth at your store! You will get it out of the house and not have to worry about people coming to your house.
This is what I did when once when I had lots of things to get rid of. The last time, we donated to the youth group and they sold it, but I learned a lesson. If I do that again, I am going to price the items. They didn't ask nearly enough money for the items. -
Debby, do you have adult onset diabetes or juvenile?
-
Too much work, Sue! I've got a LOT of different things. Also, you pay to list and have to take what it sells for. Then Paypal hits you up and takes some profit then Ebay charges you a percentage of what you got. Then you've got to find a box and ship it!
I'd rather try to just sell the stuff outright. My clothes will probably have to go on Ebay. Not much call for smaller sizes around here. I've got some things that are lovely but are size 10-12 and are too big for me. I'll put the nice church dresses on Ebay.
I've found that pure junk sells best at yard sales! Weird. However, we also have 2 bikes, one of those battery powered dump trucks that kids ride in, etc. If the grandkids were closer, I'd keep them for when they came over. I've got some furniture too. Too costly to ship that stuff.

Diane: Before I found eBay, I had a yard sale every year. I had it all day Friday and Saturday. At noon on Saturday, I cut the prices in half...
