WELL~ We took ONE route in my name for now. There's not many left and this route is BIG! Because of the weekend tho, we have until Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. to have almost 2,000 houses done. All businesses have to be done on weekdays and if they advertise in the Yellow Pages, we have to get a signature of delivery. The good news is, if we finish on time we get a bonus and we get gas money which will come to a total of $191.00. You get paid 48 hours after turning in your completed paperwork. That's money we need!

If any routes are left, which they doubt, we could always do more but the lady said the only ones left now are way out in the boon docks where a driveway might be over a mile long but the pay remains almost the same.

Jim just left to get another car load of books. We could only get 25 bundles of books in my Vue with all of us in it and we need 97 bundles!!

BOY HOWDY all. Still overcast (more drizzle in the night) and c-o-l-d.

Debby - I LOVED the new Dr. Bob soda can. The motto is "open wide and say ahhhh". And GIANT foods seems appropo, as I am 6'6".

Only problem is I DON'T DRINK! Gave up evil soda pop on Christmas Day 5 1/2 years ago and never looked back. I was addicted to Dr Pepper, but if DR BOB had been available . . .

    Morning All,

I have been away from the board for a couple of days and just have a moment this morning. On Tuesday my father suffered a massive stroke. We are not sure what the results are going to be, only time will tell. I would just request that you all pray for my family, especially my mom, as we enter into these days. We want to be able to trust in the Lord in all things. Thank you. By the way Dr Bob, it is going to be 107 here today

BTW, we will ship you some cool air AND a "Dr Bob" soda . . .

    Tony,
As a stroke victim, I fully understand and know that deliverance is a possibility. It will take time. It took me three years just to talk again.

Prayers are with you all, because a stroke does affect more than just the victim.

    Cheers, and God bless,

    Jim

Whew... got a little overheated so came home for a break. My first route is the highway our church is on but it's a LONG route. Nick and I came home for a quick 'cool down' and found

a BIG BROWN BOX with new clothes, toys, underwear, swimsuit, sandals and more for my precious 9 year old. He's already stretched out on the living room floor playing with the Matchbox Atomix Wrecking Yard. (I had to remove all the wires they put in those darned boxes first... LOL)

Gina and friend.... God bless you for touching my little ones heart! He's so concerned about our situation and this just hit the spot. He's been helping me go door to door, up and down long driveways, in 91° heat..... Thank you!

You'd THINK that with all the technology available they'd come up with something more intelligent to prevent theft than fifty million impossibly twisted wires semi-permanently attached to each and every fiber of a toy! ;)

Its turned nice and cool here, still no rain, but the heat has broken.

I headed off to bed here - 1/2 day in Dublin tomorrow and then home to a quiet house. Three of our boys are out west on a little holiday so it is just Eoin, Mary, and me!

    Good night all!

Yes! I will elaborate on that Home School Act when I get a chance----it turns out it wasn't "really, really" a true blue "Home School" act---the amendment failed---but the resolution to emphasis a withdrawal from culture dangers stood----I'll mail you a copy of the original resolution!!

I know all about the phone books Diane. I used to come home wringing wet with sweat. I had one route out in the boonies and found a nudist camp. LOL I notified the police and it was shut down immediately. Boy - was I embarrassed!

I am very tired tonight, but it is a GOOD tired for a change. Brent and I went to about 8 stores today (second-hand shops -
Dollar store - grocery stores -lawn & garden stores).

We came home with tomato, cabbage, bell pepper, and brussel sprout plants. We also bought green onion, leaf lettuce, and icicle radish seeds.

We got them all planted and watered while hubby was working on the truck. I came in and fixed a veggie and salad to go with the pot roast I put in the crock pot this morning, so supper was a breeze.

I did the dishes and cleaned the kitchen before Brent got up this morning. He awoke to the aroma of cooking bacon. LOL

Everyone has had their shower/bath and we are all very worn out and ready to watch a little TV before bed.

I think tomorrow will be play day!

    Pleasant dreams all!

A question that comes to mind; What is the cost of home schooling? This includes the loss of wages, books, that would normally be supplied by the state schools, space and time.

    I am just curious.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Wouldn't matter if it were a million dollars Jim. God has spoken CLEARLY to both my husband and myself and that's enough for me.
